Beyoncé is one of the most famous celebrities in the world. Since rising to fame in the late 1990s, the singer has taken the music industry by storm, selling millions of records worldwide and topping music charts with her hit singles. With all that she’s achieved over the years, Beyoncé’s popularity has continued to grow, making it harder for her to do the same things as everyone else.

Beyoncé would love just to walk around and take in the sights

Beyoncé lives a life many of us wish we had. From traveling the world to perform in front of thousands of people to attending the most exclusive A-list events, the singer is someone who has practically everything at her fingertips.

While it might seem like Beyoncé longs for nothing in life, she does miss the freedom she had before she became a world-renowned pop sensation.

Since her rise to fame, the singer has had to experience many things from the blacked-out windows of an armored car and through the sturdy frame of her many minders.

Though she wouldn’t change her career for anything, Beyoncé has longed to enjoy the simple pleasure of life again.

In fact, she told Vogue in April 2013 that if she had the chance to be anonymous for a day, she would do quotidian activities that have not been feasible for her, like walking down a busy street.

“I’d walk to Times Square,” she said. “I’ve never walked down Times Square. I’d do little things, like taking a walk or going out to a club and actually dancing.”

If she could, Beyoncé would turn off her fame

Seeing as she loves being a world-famous entertainer, Beyoncé would never want to give that up for a life of complete anonymity. However, if she could turn her fame on and off, the singer would jump at the chance.

In 2011, the then 25-year-old singer said during an interview with Piers Morgan that though she liked being famous, there are times she just wants to go incognito and bask in life’s simple pleasures.

“I like it at times. You know, I like it when I’m on stage,” she admitted. “But honestly, I would be very happy if I could cut it off and just enjoy my life when I wasn’t performing.”

Of course, the Queen Bey can’t complain since she gets to do what she loves for a living.

“I don’t think it’s great to complain much regardless of what you do. I’m able to do so many wonderful things that I have to weigh it out,” she continued. “I get to sell out venues, I make really good money, I make a great living, and I do what I love so if I have to sacrifice some of my privacy, it’s not great but it is what it is.”

Morgan went on to Beyoncé if she would give up fame for complete anonymity. Though she stumbled at first coming up with an answer, the singer revealed that she’s content with her life, despite always being under the world’s watchful eye.

“I don’t know because…that means I wouldn’t be me,” she said. “I don’t know. It’s a tough thing. I’m happy with my choices in life, and I’m happy with my life.”
