Born in 2012, Blue Ivy Carter is Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s oldest child. She appeared at award shows and concerts, even stealing the spotlight at Super Bowl LVI. According to Elle, Blue Ivy also impacted Beyoncé’s career goals.

“I had Blue, and the quest for my purpose became so much deeper,” Beyoncé said via Instagram. “I died and was reborn in my relationship, and the quest for self became even stronger. It’s difficult for me to go backwards.”

“Being ‘number one’ was no longer my priority,” she continued. “My true win is creating art and a legacy that will live far beyond me. That’s fulfilling.”

Which Beyoncé songs are about Blue Ivy Carter?

As a significant aspect of her identity, Beyoncé sometimes posts pictures of her family on social media. She even wrote and released songs about her eldest daughter. The most obvious reference to Blue Ivy Carter was in Beyoncé’s 2014 release “Blue.”

With lyrics like Won’t you hold on to me, Hold on to me, Blue,” Beyoncé reflects on her relationship with her daughter. This track features young Blue Ivy calling out to her mother and, since its debut, earned over 35 million Spotify plays.

As a celebration of Black women, Beyoncé released “Brown Skin Girl” in conjunction with The Lion King: The Gift. She even featured Blue Ivy Carter in this song and its corresponding music video.

As the father of Blue Ivy Carter, Jay-Z sings about painting the sky blue and his greatest creation (Blue) in the 2016 release, “Glory.” Some lyrics state, “The most beautifulest thing in this world is daddy’s little girl.

Beyoncé also mentioned “dropping [her] daughter off at school every morning” in The Carters’ “Boss,” with Blue Ivy popping on the track to give a shoutout to her younger siblings — Rumi and Sir Carter.

Does Beyoncé have any songs about her twins, Rumi and Sir Carter?

Blue appeared on several songs created by her parents. However, Beyoncé’s twins have not yet been featured on any original songs. There are also no Beyoncé songs directly about Rumi and Sir Carter.

Although it’s not advertently about her children, Beyoncé featured Jay-Z in The Lion King: The Gift’s “Mood 4 Eva.” Some lyrics reference Beyoncé’s role as a mother, with Queen Bey singing, “Y’all be so pressed while I’m raisin’ daughters.”

When Beyoncé partnered with Disney+ for her visual album Black is King, she posted an extra message for her only son. “Dedicated to my son, Sir Carter. And to all our sons and daughters, the sun and the moon sow for you. You are the keys to the kingdom,” the video clip reads.
