The cast of Big Brother 22 got mixed reactions from the fanbase. That’s because some beloved old school players returned. But there were also recent houseguests that didn’t make it far into the game at all.

One beloved winner fans would have wanted to see is Dr. Will Kirby. He explained why he didn’t return and talked about the show coming back.

The dermatologist won Big Brother 2 back in 2001. This was the first season where houseguests could compete for Head of Household (HOH.)

He later returned to compete in Big Brother 7. He was the only winner that all-stars season so he had a huge target on his back. That season included all-stars who returned for Big Brother 22 like Kaysar Ridha and Janelle Pierzina.

Dr. Will has also been returning to the show to host the jury roundtable. This season he had a new role on the show.

He is the neighbor

A twist was teased last week on the show. Julie Chen Moonves said a legend will move into the neighbor’s house to shake things up. Alums and fans started talking about who this is and what it could mean.

The big reveal happened on the Sept. 24 episode. Dr. Will was the one to walk out of the neighbor house.

“What’s up, all-stars? Great news! I just bought your neighbor’s house. I guess that makes me, Dr. Will, your brand new neighbor,” he announced. He later revealed the twist.

“For the next HOH competition and veto competition you’re going to have an important decision to make: go for power, or go for prizes. I sure know what I would do. Good luck!” he told the houseguests. He also teased that they will be seeing him again.

Many fans complained about the cast of Big Brother 22. But there were some alums who didn’t want to be cast and that includes Dr. Will.

“Well, while placing no judgement on people who are playing this season, I personally didn’t feel like I could leave my family or take an absence from my career obligations right now,” he told Us Weekly. “Disappearing for three months wasn’t wasn’t something that made sense to me personally. But I of course wanted to be involved in this season in some capacity and this role seemed like a great fit!”

He complimented the team behind Big Brother for being able to air another season this year. “No other team could pull this off,” he said. “I’m not allowed to discuss details, but right now the Big Brother house looks like a space station! I’ve never seen anything like it! These guys are under-appreciated artists.”

The good news is fans still get to see Dr. Will this season. We’ll have to wait to see what kind of prizes will be offered to the houseguests.
