‘Big Brother’ Engagement: How Victor Arroyo and Nicole Franzel Fell in Love
Nicole Franzel has returned to the Big Brother house since winning Season 18. But she has returned for Season 20 for a better reason than meeting the new houseguests. Victor Arroyo actually proposed to her, which might be a surprise to fans who haven’t been keeping up with the former contestants. So how did they fall in love? Here is everything you need to know.
The two stayed friends after the show
On the show, Franzel had a showmance with Corey Brooks but that didn’t work out. After she won, she stayed close with Arroyo and things led to something more.
“[After] Big Brother, me and Nicole stayed friends,” explained Arroyo told Entertainment Tonight. “We talked a lot as friends and, you know, through her life and my life, we were just an open book.”
Things became romantic at Big Brother Season 19’s premiere
Their relationship took a turn when they reunited for the next season of the show. “Everything came together for the premiere of Big Brother 19, where we were in New York and we just clicked,” Arroyo continued. “From then on, it was, I guess it was a love story, and now she’s my girlfriend.”
Natalie Negrotti said she knew Arroyo had a crush on Franzel in the house
Although some fans might not have seen it coming, someone on the show did. Natalie Negrotti, who previously competed with them told Us Weekly, “I could tell in the Big Brother house that Victor had a huge crush on Nicole.” She continued, “Just the way he would look at her — and he was always looking for her — you could definitely tell he had a huge crush on her.”
Arroyo has moved to Michigan to be closer to her
In his proposal, Arroyo mentions that he moved to Michigan to be with her. He previously lived in Louisiana so the move was a big adjustment for him.
They will be on The Amazing Race Season 31
Jessica Graf and Cody Nickson took their showmance to The Amazing Race and got engaged. Now it’s Franzel and Arroyo’s turn. They will be competing for $1 million on Season 31 of the show.
