Why isn’t ‘Big Sky’ on tonight, April 14, 2022?

Big Sky isn’t on tonight with season 2 episode 16 because ABC is airing Superstar. But don’t fret. The hiatus is short, and fans will catch up with Cassie Dewell (Kylie Bunbury) and Jenny Hoyt (Katheryn Winnick) in Big Sky country in a few weeks. The documentary series in its time slot highlights a new icon each week who shaped American culture. It includes rare footage and details about Patrick Swayze in tonight’s episode.

‘Big Sky’ Season 2 Episode 16 return date and what time the next new episode will be released

ABC confirmed that Big Sky Season 2 Episode 16 has a return date of May 5, 2022, not tonight. The episode will also receive the show’s usual 10 p.m. ET time slot. Meanwhile, the next new episode will be available to watch on Hulu starting on May 6, 2022.

‘Big Sky’ Season 2 schedule going forward after tonight

After the return of Big Sky Season 2 on May 5, instead of tonight, viewers will get a new episode each week up to and including the finale on May 18. However, that means only three episodes remain this season, which is a bonus because season 1 only had 16 episodes.

What happens in ‘Big Sky’ Season 2 Episode 16?

In the Big Sky Season 2 Episode 16 preview, Travis Stone (Logan Marshall-Green) and Donno (Ryan O’Nan) speak to Jenny from inside a truck. However, she doesn’t know that Donno has a gun and instructions from Veer Bhullar (Bernard White) to kill her. Donno wants Travis to convince Jenny that she should go for a ride with them. However, it’s evident that they do not kill Jenny at that moment because she’s in several other clips.

“If you don’t stop going after them, they’re gonna kill you,” Travis yells at Jenny in another scene.

Travis tries to warn Jenny that the Bhullars want her dead. Then in another clip, Deputy Poppernak (J. Anthony Pena) informs Jenny that someone shot Sheriff Tubb (Patrick Gallagher). Jenny and Cassie rush to the scene, and he’s alive but doesn’t look good. The way that things are building in Big Sky Season 2, it looks like the finale might be a full shootout like the ending of season 1. It’s not immediately clear who shot Tubb, but he’s not at the Bhullar residence. Instead, it looks like he could be at Richard Ford’s (Dallas Roberts) home. Richard’s son died in Big Sky Season 2 Episode 14, and he went missing in the following episode.

Although Big Sky Season 2 isn’t on tonight, it typically airs on Thursdays at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
