First gaining popularity with her song “Ocean Eyes,” Billie Eilish released her first full-length album in Spring 2019. She was about 15-years-old when she started picking up momentum. Now 17-years-old, Billie Eilish is one of the most popular artists in the music industry, creating chart-topping songs and trending music videos.

Perhaps what Billie Eilish is most known for is her unique style of songs, co-created by the singer’s brother, Finneas O’Connell. Her music videos help set the mood with “Bury A Friend,” “When The Party’s Over,” and “Bad Guy” being imagined with weird, creepy, and twisted visuals.

Billie Eilish sang at Coachella

The singer performed at large music festivals like Lollapalooza and Coachella. She won the Kids’ Choice Award for “Favorite Breakout Artist.” Yet, even with success in her music career, Billie Eilish isn’t afraid to get real about mental health and body image issues. In a partnership with Calvin Klein, Billie Eilish explained that she wears baggy clothes so that people don’t comment on her body.

Billie has also been a strong advocate for mental health awareness. In a partnership with AdCouncil, Billie Eilish was featured in a YouTube video discussing mental health. She encouraged fans to reach out to their friends to ask if they need help.

“Depression has controlled sort of like everything in my life,” she said during an interview with Apple Music Beats 1’s Zane Lowe. “For my whole life, I’ve kind of always been a melancholy person.”

‘Bad Guy’ is climbing the music charts

Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy” is enjoying nine weeks on Billboard’s “Hot 100” song chart. Currently in the No. 1 spot is “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X featuring Billy Ray Cyrus.

Her YouTube music video for “Bad Guy” has over 250 million views, surpassing other popular music videos like “Sucker” by the Jonas Brothers. The song on Spotify has over 430 million plays. Some are saying that in the age of digital streaming, Billie Eilish cracked the code for success.

The artist’s album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? shot to the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s “Hot 200” album chart. She the first artist born in the 21st century to earn the Chart’s No. 1 spot.
