Billie Eilish is the Grammy Award-winning artist behind the album ‘When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go’

She may be young, but Eilish has grown into one of the most popular artists in the music industry. She earned millions of views on music videos for songs such as “You Should See Me in a Crown” and “All the Good Girls Go to Hell.”

The “Happier Than Ever” singer became the youngest artist to win more than one Record of the Year Grammy Award. She also became the youngest artist to sweep the “big four” category (Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist) during the 2020 award ceremony. She even collaborated with Disney to bring a live concert experience to Disney+.

When Eilish first grew in popularity, she posted to social media with the username wherearetheavocados. As a result, her listeners adopted an avocado-themed fan base name.

Billie Eilish fans previously referred to themselves as ‘Avocados’

As a proud vegan, it’s no surprise that Eilish is a massive fan of everything avocado-related. But there wasn’t a deep meaning behind her wherearetheavocados Instagram account name.

“I made this grilled cheese once, I was in the kitchen, and I wanted some avocado,” the singer said during an interview with The Line Of Best Fit in 2017. “I was home alone, so I just screamed ‘where are the avocados,’ and I decided to make that my username, and here we are.”

She continued: “Now there are fan accounts like billiesavocados, herearetheavocados, therearetheavocados and it’s just this random thing I thought of four years ago.”

In response to this avocado love, some fans referred to themselves as “Avocados.” However, the fan base changed its collective name over time.

Fans now call themselves ‘Eyelashes’ after the singer’s stage name

It’s been several years since Eilish released songs like “Ocean Eyes.” Over time, the fan base has changed its collective name from “Avocados” to “Eyelashes.” According to PopBuzz, others refer to themselves as “Pirates,” inspired by Eilish’s middle name.

Similar to Justin Bieber’s “Beliebers” and Taylor Swift’s “Swifties, Eilish’s stage name inspired “Eyelashes.”

Music by Eilish, including her recent album Happier Than Ever, is available on most major music streaming platforms. Happier than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles is available on Disney+.
