Is Agent Odell really alive in ‘Black Lightning’ Season 3 Episode 7?

At the end of Black Lightning season 3 episode 6, it seemed that Agent Odell had been killed by the Markovians. However, in season 3 episode 7 of Black Lightning, it was revealed that he is still alive. But is he? Is he really?

It would be very like Agent Odell to not want his death, if it did happen, to slow down the A.S.A’s operations. So perhaps making people think he’s still alive, at least for a while, would keep the Pierce family on the alert. However, Black Lightning did save Odell and it would also be just like the agent, who always seemed to be one step ahead of everyone, to somehow cheat death. This story could probably go either way.

Even if Odell is alive, it’s possible that we might not see him again. It depends on if his part in the story is done as well as actor availability. However, it would be interesting to see him again, if only to possibly find out once and for all what he is up to. If he’s really gone, alive or dead, then his secrets leave with him.

And if Odell really is up to something, it would be nice to see it play out with him actually around. After all, he can’t deal with the consequences for his actions if he’s not there.

Will Lynn Stewart be able to restore Khalil Payne/Painkiller’s memories after ‘Black Lightning’ season 3 episode 7?

In Black Lightning season 3 episode 7, Lynn Stewart and Peter Gambi come across Khalil as Painkiller. The two of them disagree about how to handle him. Lynn wants to save him while Gambi wants to stop him from harming anyone else, thinking that the Khalil that Lynn knew is gone. Lynn, of course, argues with this, and finds Khalil’s memories, which are not gone completely.

So will Lynn be able to restore Khalil’s memories to him? Will she help him to return to his old self? Can he even return to his old self, after everything the A.S.A. has done to him? We don’t have the answers, but it’s interesting to consider the questions.

It’s possible that Lynn will find a way of giving Khalil his memories back. It’s also definitely possible that she won’t. Even if Khalil did get his memories back, would he return to his old self? It’s possible that he couldn’t after everything he’s done as Painkiller and everything he’s been through.

Will Jennifer Pierce/Lightning end up joining the rebellion against the A.S.A.?

It may seem unlikely, but Jefferson/Black Lightning ended up helping them in this episode, although a bit reluctantly. Though it was mostly a favor for Anissa, Jefferson/Black Lightning still got involved and fought against the A.S.A. But why would Jennifer/Lightning? Well, it all has to do with Khalil/Painkiller.

Now two people close to Jennifer know about Khalil’s status. They might not tell her, but information like this has a way of getting out eventually. If she did find out what the A.S.A. did to her boyfriend, she might have mixed feelings about them. It might be just what Jennifer needs to join her sister Anissa’s rebellion.

Hopefully, these questions will be answered after Black Lightning season 3 episode 7. It would be interesting to find out if Agent Odell is really alive, if Lynn can restore Khalil’s memories, and if Jennifer will join the rebellion against the A.S.A.
