Now that the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Black Widow has been delayed from its original May release due to the coronavirus (COVID-19), speculating about the film will have to go on a little longer than planned. At least some exist in what the plot will entail, including looking at all the production elements. Part of this includes Black Widow’s fashion styles.

Anyone who’s watched Scarlett Johansson carefully in her portrayal of Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow probably noticed her fashions change often. In every ensuing film, she’s wearing a different, chic outfit.

Some fashion mavens have noted this and even put together suggestions on how to create similar styles for the real world. Which look is everyone’s favorite, though, is still a matter of personal taste.

The undercover agent look

In The Age of Ultron, Natasha had a specific look going as she took on the role of secret agent. Rather than don her usual Black Widow outfit, this look was within the realm of practicality while also being very style-conscious.

The outfit starts out simple enough: Dark wash jeans and a simple white t-shirt. It was her belted beige jacket, however, that turned a lot of heads. Included in this was a cheetah print belt-bag, something many women have probably tried to find online.

To finish off this outfit, Natasha wore knee-high lace-up boots, something not easy to find in stores without having to pay a fortune. Many fashion experts recommend wearing suede shoes as a replacement for women trying to mimic the same vibe.

Yes, this was a slightly more casual look for Black Widow. For the most part, she’s known for wearing some style of leather jacket, including as part of her regular Black Widow garb.

The Black Widow leather coat outfit with casual clothes underneath

In every MCU movie, Natasha was always seen wearing either a brown or black leather coat. Underneath was some kind of classy casual outfit most people could find at their local retailers.

From the comic books, Black Widow’s main outfit was a skintight black zip-up suit, still one of the most popular outfits from that form of media. In the movies, it usually once again consisted of dark jeans and maybe a dark crop top. She’d also wear black riding boots and dark riding boots to complement the black leather jacket.

The latter outfit was seen in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, giving Natasha a bit of a throwback look to the former KGB agent she was. All of her outfits give hints to her previous life as a spy, including the Black Widow outfit itself.

While these looks continued to evolve over time, everyone has their own opinion of what they think was the best one. Over on Reddit, many fans have their own decided choices of what made Black Widow arguably the most fashionable of any of the Avengers.

Which of the Black Widow outfits stands out from the rest?

A few Reddit users recently noted The Winter Soldier look is generally considered one of Black Widow’s hottest looks. Media analysts have given a little closer look and generally say that her look in Avengers: Endgame was one of the best ever for her. One good reason is she used more armor for the first time to get away from the leather.

For the upcoming Black Widow movie, Natasha is going to wear several stealth outfits, including one all white. Most of these outfits are designed for all-out war, outside of Endgame having the same aesthetic.

Should Black Widow become successful (assuming it’s released this year due to the coronavirus delay), expect more surprising Natasha fashions down the road. It really can’t be the last of Black Widow on the big screen.
