Blake Lively burst onto the scene in 2005 with her role in the beloved friendship film, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. From there, the California-born actor stunned in the teen drama Gossip Girl and has starred in a slew of other films since then.

As a working mother, Lively has also found time to maintain a healthy and balanced diet despite her hectic schedule. However, she has admitted to having some help.

When it comes to getting the appropriate amounts of nutrients and vegetables in her system every day, Lively has a hidden weapon. The actor swears by one particular detox juice when it comes to having a sound diet and glowing skin.

Blake Lively’s diet is actually super normal

When it comes to dieting and maintaining their figures, celebrities have admitted to doing all sorts of things. However, for Lively, who has had three children and continues to shine on-screen, the key to wellness is living normally and having sustainability.

According to Spoon University, breakfast for Lively is key. A typical breakfast for the Gossip Girl alum is a glass of water, eggs (cooked in coconut oil), and some veggies or gluten-free oats with fruit.

Most of the actor’s meals consist of protein, vegetable, fruit, and a slow-burning carb. These give you the nutrients that you need while balancing your sugar levels all day. However, this does not mean that the 33-year-old is scared to indulge.

Her trainer Don Saladino says that Lively indulges in treats every now and again adhering to the 80/20 rule. However, even on busy days, the A Simple Favor actor has one trick that she uses to get her nutrients and veggies in.

Though The Age of Adaline star doesn’t believe in doing anything extreme for her wellness and health, she does swear by her detox juice.

“A few years ago, I had a juice that changed it all for me,” she told People. “Vegetables in their purest form are refreshing and palate-cleansing, while the sweet notes of the fruits and mint make this both quenching and intoxicating. Now I can get my dose of veggies in a delicious way.” The ingredients to Lively’s smoothie are actually super straight forward.

  • 1 cup kale
  • 2 leaves Swiss chard
  • ½ cup parsley
  • ½ small beet
  • ½ cup pineapple
  • 2 medium green apples (red may also be used for extra sweetness)
  • 1 sprig fresh mint
  • ½ medium lemon, peeled

When it comes to putting the juice together, there is not a magic secret. The most important thing to have is a juicer. After adding all of your ingredients to the juicer, you want to blend them for 2-3 minutes to combine everything.

Once everything is smooth add the juice to a tall glass, you can even use a metal straw for flair. However, since this is made with raw ingredients the juice is not meant to keep well, be sure to enjoy it right away.
