Blake Shelton and Adam Levine Reunite in Super Bowl Dating Ad

Some fans of The Voice were heartbroken when Adam Levine quit the show. But he did reunite with Blake Shelton in a Super Bowl ad joking about the country singer’s relationship with Gwen Stefani.

Levine coached on The Voice from the beginning of the show to season 16. He became close with Shelton through working together. The former coach made sure to give a shout out to Shelton in his goodbye to the show.

“I couldn’t hide my love for you if I tried. Seriously. I tried,” read part of his statement. “Can’t do it. Our friendship is and always will be one for the books. Whatever this whole surreal experience was, Im [sic] just happy I got to experience it with you.”

Their friendly rivalry has continued after the show. Maroon 5’s song, “Nobody’s Love” was competing against Shelton’s duet with Stefani, “Happy Anywhere” last year. They went back and forth on Twitter about it with Shelton tweeting, “My god Adam…. You are still a pain in my a**!!!!! Go away idiot!!!!”

Some fans were excited to see this on Twitter hoping they would reunite on the show. That hasn’t happened but they did appear in an ad together.

Levine sets up Gwen Stefani and Shelton in an ad

The singers haven’t worked together on The Voice for some time. But they teamed up for a funny ad for T-Mobile.

Stefani is seen talking to Levine on her phone. “I think I’m ready to start dating again,” she tells him. He asks what she’s looking for and she has an interesting list.

“I’m sick of L.A. guys,” she answered. “I want someone completely different, maybe from another country and someone cultured and sensitive and not threatened by a strong, confident woman.”

Sadly, Levine had a bad connection and heard, “I’m sick of L.A. guys. I want someone completely country, uncultured, and threatened by a strong, confident woman.” He was already eating with Shelton so he decided to set them up.

Stefani doesn’t look happy to see Shelton show up for the date. He wears spurs and said he rode a horse to the restaurant.

Shelton hopes Levine will sing at his wedding

The ad plays off of the surprising couple falling in love. They got to know each other after their divorces while on The Voice and now they’re engaged. Shelton said he hopes his good friend will sing on their big day.

“I’ve kind of decided that I’ve been doing this a long time now and I’ve got a lot of favors out there,” Shelton said on Late Night With Seth Meyers. “He may not like it, but Adam Levine’s gonna have to get the band together and come and play our wedding.”

The couple plans to wait for when they can have family at their wedding. So we’ll have to wait to see if Shelton will get his wish.
