Blake Shelton Still Gets ‘Blown Away’ By Gwen Stefani When They Make Music Together

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are a power couple in the music industry. He is one of country music’s best-known artists, while she is a multi-talented pop star. 

Many people probably do not know what it’s like to date a famous musician. Shelton recently revealed that it involves moments of being “blown away” by one’s partner.

Shelton and Stefani have worked together many times. For example, they met on the talent search show The Voice, where Shelton and Stefani worked as coaches.

In 2017, Shelton appeared on Stefani’s Christmas special, You Make It Feel Like Christmas. Together, they performed the song with the same name.

Then, in 2019, the two of them released the song “Nobody But You” together. To promote the track, Shelton and Stefani performed it on stage and in various videos with each other. “Nobody But You” was a big hit on country radio, and it was even nominated for an Academy of Country Music Awards.

Other collaborative tracks Shelton and Stefani did together include “Go Ahead and Break My Heart” and “Happy Anywhere.”

Given how many times they have made music together, it is assumed Shelton would be used to seeing Stefani work her magic. However, he recently admitted he’s still in awe whenever they collaborate.

Shelton said on Apple Music’s The Zane Lowe Show, “It’s like that voice, you talk to her and she sounds like Gwen, but when she sings, all of a sudden it’s the girl, it’s ‘Don’t Speak.’ It’s that icon.”

“I still have those moments when we get into work mode. I know that it should be super like emotional and personal and this, because we haven’t done that many, we’ve done four songs together, and I’m still more in blown away fan shocked mode when I actually work with her,” Shelton added.

Shelton also talked about his feelings when he occasionally brings Stefani out on stage as a surprise for fans. He shared, “It’s like I’m a kid on Christmas morning. And so that’s what it’s like for me working with her. It’s just exciting, it really is.”

Shelton has been on The Voice since its first season in 2011. Stefani joined the show in 2014, and the couple has worked together for a few seasons.

Last month, in honor of The Voice’s 10th anniversary, Shelton revealed that Stefani was “the greatest thing that has happened” since he has been on the series.

“That’s a no-brainer, right? I met my fiancée here,” he said, according to Good Housekeeping. “It’s hard to resist Gwen Stefani. You know, here’s this iconic rock star coming to be a coach on The Voice in a black minivan. That was cool to me.”

He also added, “I love it when she’s here. She brings a very complicated element of competition for me in particular. But I love that. I love the challenge. Just knowing that she’s there, and she has my back, is pretty cool.”
