These days Jamie (Will Estes) isn’t spending as much time solving cases since his promotion. But this new episode of Blue Bloods will show a woman from Jamie’s past. Here is everything Showbiz Cheat Sheet knows about the storyline.

The last episode of Blue Bloods was “The New Normal.” He asked Eddie (Vanessa Ray) and her partner to try a new program to avoid violence during calls. They rode along with a social worker and the couple didn’t agree about whether it’ll be helpful to cops.

Jamie was skeptical on whether it would work. Eddie saw the social worker was able to calm someone with a mood disorder down so she was very optimistic. In the end, the couple decided to work on Jamie’s report together so the program doesn’t completely stop.

It was the first time we got to focus on the couple for some time because they have been working separately. But now it looks like Jamie might work with a different woman this week.

Jamie’s childhood friend will need his help to solve a case

A new episode called “In Too Deep” will air on Feb. 12. The description for it teased what the Reagans will be up to this week.

Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) will witness a drive-by shooting, which will probably lead to his case with Baez (Marisa Ramirez). A former detective will tell Frank (Tom Selleck) about a possible crime ring, however the police commissioner doesn’t trust the information.

Lastly, a childhood friend will go to Jamie because she believes she solved a cold case murder, according to Yahoo! The character’s name is Alison Gable and she’s played by Erin Neufer, according to Carter Matt.

It sounds like the character is also a take on the popularity of true crime podcasts since Alison runs one. Fans will have to watch the episode to see if her theory is right, or if Jamie will find something wrong with her research.

This will be Neufer’s first episode on the show. So there is a good chance we won’t see her again.

Fans don’t usually get to see Jamie’s friends. The show started with him being in a relationship with Sydney Davenport (Dylan Moore). She was preparing to become a lawyer like Jamie until he switched careers to become a cop. Their relationship didn’t last and they broke up in the eighth episode of the first season.

The show is very focused on the Reagan family so it’s not a surprise that Jamie has other women in his life that we never see. There is a rule that only family can go to Sunday dinner and it is rarely broken.
