During Blue Bloods Season 11, Episode 4 (titled “Redemption”), Frank has a big decision to make. An injured detective, Allison Mulaney, asks Frank if she can remain in the field. Allison’s injury has resulted in her using a wheelchair.

Her wish is to return to her previous duties. Frank needs to decide if he can grant her request. Will he be able to put Allison back in the field after her accident?

This isn’t the first time Frank has been presented with a special request. Not long ago, Paula Hill (Bonnie Somerville), Joe Hill’s (Will Hochman) mother, asked Frank if he would move Joe to a less active unit (he’s currently in the firearms division). Paula is concerned that her son will be killed in the line of duty like his father, Joe Reagan. Frank decides to decline Paula’s request.

Erin (Bridget Moynihan) also has some struggles of her own. She’s troubled by her part in the sentencing of a man accused of vehicular homicide. As far as Danny and Baez (Marisa Ramirez and Donnie Wahlberg), they’re tasked with taking down a rideshare rapist. Jamie and Eddie join forces to help an officer when his partner is shot while on duty.

Many fans will be happy to see Danny and Baez get more screen time. The last time we saw the detectives get close, they were investigating the mysterious death of a woman. Unfortunately, they later found themselves in a serial killer’s basement.

Danny and Baez kept each other company and said they loved each other. They made it out alive, and Baez attended Reagan family dinner. We’ll be watching to see if their relationship eventually develops into something more.

How will ‘Blue Bloods’ handle COVID-19?

Executive Producer Kevin Wade says he made the choice to have Blue Bloods take place in a post-coronavirus setting. He wanted to move forward and give viewers fresh content.

“It was a conscious decision, and not an easy one,” Wade tells Deadline. “On the other hand, on a purely practical level I don’t want to watch masked actors, particularly. Now, I’ve seen other shows that are doing it and it feels, on the one hand, true and on another hand, anachronistic. The decision we’ve made was not to play the show that way.”

Blue Bloods airs Fridays on CBS at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
