Eddie (Vanessa Ray) has gone through multiple partners on the job on Blue Bloods. Lately she’s been working with Officer Rachel Witten, which is a switch up after years of Eddie working with Jamie (Will Estes). The actor who plays her is Lauren Patten and she had a few interesting roles outside of the show.

Eddie was covering the streets with Jamie for some time. But then they got married and he got a promotion. So her new partner was Maya Thomas (Yasha Jackson).

Sadly, they didn’t last very long together. It was revealed in season 9 that she was stealing money from crime scenes in the episode, “Two-Faced.” She was fired and Eddie got a new partner named Rachel Witten.

The two officers seem to work well together. So fans might want to know more about the actor who plays her.

Lauren Patten plays Rachel Witten

Patten has been playing the character, which joined the show in season 8. Blue Bloods isn’t her first show.

The actor used to be on The Good Fight playing Polly Dean. The character was a member of Diane’s (Christine Baranski) resistance group in season 3. She also had a small role in Succession and the movie, The Big Sick.

She does have something in common with multiple actors on Blue Bloods by performing on Broadway. Patten was the first to play a specific role.

Patten was the first to play Jo in Jagged Little Pill on Broadway. The musical is inspired by Alanis Morissette’s music so the title shares the same name as her third album.

The actor talked about her path to Broadway with ShowTickets.com. “I have been acting since I was a young kid,” she said. “Nobody in my family does it. I was sort of a strange child who talked about performing from the time that I could talk.”

Patten continued, “I grew up in Chicago and did community theater in a Chicago suburb from the time I was six. The first show I ever did was an adaptation of The Christmas Pageant.”

Patten was nominate for a Tony in 2020 for Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical. It sounds like the Blue Bloods cast is a good fit for Patten.

Len Cariou (Henry), Tom Selleck (Frank), Sami Gayle (Nicky) and more have previously performed on Broadway before doing the show. Cariou was in the original cast playing Sweeney Todd in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

So far it seems like Witten and Eddie are a good match. Maybe one day they’ll become close enough that she’ll be invited to family dinner.
