‘Blue Bloods’: Why Anthony Doesn’t Trust Jack When It Comes to Erin

Erin and Jack have been divorced for years on ‘Blue Bloods’
The lawyers used to be married and are the parents of Nicky (Sami Gayle.) The whole show has shown them trying to parent together. But sometimes they’ve flirted with starting up their relationship again. However, Jack hasn’t been great with commitment.
Erin gave another reason for their relationship not working out in “Ripple Effect.” “We got along great when we were both in the D.A.’s office,” she told Eddie (Vanessa Ray.) “We couldn’t get enough of each other. But then when he became a defense attorney we never saw each other and it just went south from there.”
Sometimes work still brings them together. Other times they reconnect because of their daughter.
Anthony has threatened Jack in the past
One person who isn’t Team Jack is Anthony. Every time Jack pops up he doesn’t trust his motives and makes it known.
In the episode, “Your Six” we see someone back into Anthony’s car then drive off. When he goes into the office, Erin is in a good mood and he noticed Jack gave her white flowers with a note reading “Thinking of you…”
Erin reveals that they have a date and Anthony shows that he’s uncomfortable. “It’s OK if you don’t like Jack. A lot of people don’t including my entire family and for the better part of the past eight years…me. So if you don’t like him just say you don’t like him,” she told Anthony. He told her he doesn’t like Jack and she stormed off.
The plate of the car that hit Anthony’s car came back to Jack. He threatened the lawyer and told him to stay away from Erin. The episode ended with Erin revealing it was Jack’s partner who was in the car. She said Jack paid for it and wasn’t mad at Anthony for what he did.
He doesn’t like Jack because of his past with Erin
Anthony revealed in the same episode why he doesn’t like Jack. It’s because of the things Erin told him.
This isn’t the last time Anthony’s problem with Jack has come up. Jack returned in the episode “Higher Standards.” He brought one of Erin’s cases back up.
“Every time this guy comes around there’s trouble, every time,” Anthony told Erin. In the end, Jack was pretty harmless again. But it just goes to show that Anthony might always be protective of Erin because of their past.
