‘BMF’: Demetrius Flenory Jr. Says Season 2 Will ‘Blow the Audience Away’
Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr. portrays his real-life father, Demetrius Flenory Sr. aka Big Meech on the Starz drama series BMF. Set in Detriot in the 1980s, the series chronicles the rise and fall of Big Meech and his younger brother, Terry “Southwest T” Flenory’s (Da’Vinchi) drug organization. The brothers began their business as teens by selling $50 bags of cocaine. However, as the crack cocaine epidemic swept the country, their business boomed.
In the first season, loyalties were tested and the brothers ended things at odds. Now, as season 2 begins filming, Lil Meech says fans should brace themselves.
‘BMF’ Season 2 will begin filming soon
The second season of BMF is set to begin filming soon. Though the series is set in Detriot, the series is actually mostly filmed in Atlanta due to Georgia’s film incentives. Interestingly enough, as BMF’s business got larger, the Flenory brothers actually begin expanding across the country even gaining a stronghold in Atlanta.
“What’s really interesting about Demetrius and Terry is they really didn’t blow up in Detroit,” BMF creator and showrunner Randy Huggins told The Detroit Free Press. As fans know Big Meech and Southwest T’s fame began to really rise in the 1990s.
Demetrius Flenory Jr. says Season 2 will ‘blow the audience away’
At the end of the first season amid the chaos that their business had caused to their family, Southwest T walked away from BMF to begin a legit business with his father. Now, Big Meech, who tends to be the more bombastic brother is going to learn how to deal without Terry’s level-headedness.
Though filming has not yet begun, Lil Meech says that the audience won’t be disappointed by season 2. From Terry being shot to Lamar, a lot of intense things happened in the first season. However, Lil Meech says Season 2 is something else entirely. “A lot of crazy things happen,” he told PopSugar. “We’re really just going to blow the audience away.”
What will BMF’ Season 2 be about?
Since this is his father’s story, Lil Meech knows exactly what happens next. However, he’s only giving fans a hint at what they can expect in season 2. “Well, I can’t spoil it, but I can tell you, [it’s about] elevation,” he told PopSugar “Big Meech and his mind, even at 15, 16 [years old], he thought like a grown man . . . He always wanted to take over the world. And to a regular person it [might] sound crazy, but he did everything he said he was going to do.”
Those who know the story of BMF’s journey know that the Flenorys eventually expanded their business across the country moving into territories in Atlanta and Los Angeles. “What’s really interesting about Demetrius and Terry is they really didn’t blow up in Detroit,” Huggins told The Detroit Free Press. As fans know Big Meech and Southwest T’s fame began to really rise in the 1990s.
