What is ‘BMF’ about?

Starz has called BMF, “a story about love, kinship, and capitalism in the pursuit of the American dream.” Set in Detroit in the 1980s and based on the real-life Flenory brothers, the series follows the rise and fall of Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory (Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr.) and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory (Da’Vinchi).

At the height of the crack cocaine epidemic, the brothers built Black Mafia Family (BMF), later getting involved in the music industry with BMF Entertainment.

“BMF is really better then POWER I watched it and was buggin,” 50 Cent tweeted. “I can’t wait for you to see this.” The cast is star-studded and includes, La La Anthony, Russell Hornsby, Michole Briana White, Ajiona Alexus, Eric Kofi Abrefa, Myles Truitt, Steve Harris, Arkeisha “Kash Doll” Knight, Serayah, and Wood Harris.

How to watch the ‘BMF’ series premiere

There are several ways to watch the BMF series premiere. For those who are watching the Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 1 finale, BMF will air right afterward. That means all fans need to do is sit for another hour to be invited into this new world. It should be noted that the following week, BMF moves from 9 p.m. EST to its normal slot of 8 p.m. EST on Sundays

However, if you don’t watch Kanan in real-time, or even if you don’t have cable, there are other ways to make sure you catch the BMF series premiere. Starz is currently having a major sale. You can grab the app for just $3/ monthly for the first three months. Typically it’s priced at $8.99. However, there is no free trial with this deal.

For those who would prefer a free trial, Starz can be added to Hulu or Amazon Prime. Both deals include a free 1-week free trial. However, the price will go up to $8.99/ monthly following the trial.

Will ‘BMF’ be available on Netflix?

If fans have the Starz app or aren’t able to add the network to already existing streaming services, then it will be nearly impossible to watch BMF. Though the Starz hit drama Outlander is streaming on Netflix, BMF: The Rise and Fall of a Hip-Hop Drug Empire is not available on Netflix.

There is a small possibility that the show could end up on the streaming service once season 1 has aired. However, that is uncertain and fans will have to wait a long while if it does come to fruition.
