On Oct. 25, CBS sitcoms Bob Hearts Abishola and Cedric the Entertainer’s The Neighborhood failed to air a new episode. Confused, several fans searched online what happened to their favorite comedies. Why did ‘Bob Hearts Abishola’ and ‘The Neighborhood’ skip a week?

Each show had five episodes of their season’s episodes air from Sept. – Oct. 2021.

For Cedric the Entertainer’s The Neighborhood, the season 4 episode “Welcome to the Haunting” saw a delay. For Bob Hearts Abishola, Season 3, Episode 6, “The Devil’s Throuple” got pushed back to Nov.

“As for why the network is holding out on new episodes until then, the answer is fairly simple: November is a key ‘sweeps’ ratings period. They want to ensure that there are as many people watching as possible at about that time,” CarterMatt notes.

Both shows have performed well, and CBS wants to give them another ratings boost. More eyes on the new episodes from Bob Hearts Abishola and The Neighborhood can only help the sitcoms in the long run.

When do ‘Bob Hearts Abishola’ and ‘The Neighborhood’ new episodes return?

Bob Hearts Abishola and The Neighborhood return with new episodes on Nov. 1, 2021. They will fill their usual timeslot on Monday night on CBS.

The Neighborhood Season 4, Episode 6, “Welcome to the Haunting,” airs at 8 p.m. ET.

Bob Hearts Abishola Season 3, Episode 6, “The Devil’s Throuple,” returns at 8:30 p.m. PT.

Folake Olowofoyeku’s Abishola finds herself “caught in the middle when Morenike agrees to be the ‘plus one’ in Kemi and Chukwuemeka’s relationship. Also, when Bob refuses to pay for Douglas’ company car, he learns what it’s like to live on a budget.”

What will the new episode be about?

The descriptions give very brief overviews of the new Bob Hearts Abishola and The Neighborhood episodes. However, both shows see the several characters facing issues.

In The Neighborhood, Cedric the Entertainer’s Calvin Butler prides himself on giving out “nightmares” instead of candy.

However, he and Max Greenfield’s Dave Johnson find themselves caught up in a real-life haunting. The episode might have more in common with the CBS show Ghosts.
