The Book of Boba Fett opens with Temuera Morrison’s bounty hunter sitting on Jabba the Hutt’s throne in Tattooine. But episode 1 suggests his takeover won’t be as simple as fans might have expected. In particular, Boba will need to strike a balance between the type of ruler he wants to be and the kind required to keep his followers in line.

During the premiere, Boba Fett establishes himself as anti-torture — a sharp turn from the type of leader Jabba was. He also refuses to parade around like royalty in the same manner as his former employer. Unfortunately, that’s perceived as weakness among the very people he intends to reign over.

Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) warns him about this throughout the installment, and his hesitations to act like Jabba get them attacked at the tail end of the premiere. It seems the Disney+ show will grapple with what Boba needs to do in order to successfully maintain his throne — and episode 2 could shed more light on the series’ over-arching plot.

‘The Book of Boba Fett’ Episode 2 release date and time

Although The Book of Boba Fett gets off to a slower start, many fans are eager to see what’s next for the title character and Fennec Shand. So, when is the release date for The Book of Boba Fett Episode 2?

The Star Wars series will drop a new episode every Wednesday on Disney+. It will stick to the streamer’s 3 a.m. EST release time as well, essentially replacing the Marvel releases that have come out over the past few months.

According to CNET, the release dates for the Star Wars show will be as follows:

  • Episode 1: Dec. 29, 2021
  • Episode 2: Jan. 5, 2022
  • Episode 3: Jan. 12, 2022
  • Episode 4: Jan. 19, 2022
  • Episode 5: Jan. 26, 2022
  • Episode 6: Feb. 2, 2022
  • Episode 7: Feb. 9, 2022

That will likely bring subscribers right to the next Marvel or Star Wars series planned for the platform. Lucasfilm and Disney+ haven’t revealed much else about Boba Fett’s show. So, what can fans expect when The Book of Boba Fett Episode 2 arrives?

Disney+ rarely releases previews, episode titles, or synopses ahead of its original series. For that reason, it’s hard to say what exactly viewers should anticipate heading into The Book of Boba Fett Episode 2.

The series seems poised to explore the bounty hunter’s background in further depth, using flashbacks to fill in the gaps between Return of the Jedi and The Mandalorian. Judging by the trailer, the show will also expand upon the political challenges that come with Boba’s new throne. It’s inevitable he and Fennec Shand will face more trouble in their efforts to secure his new position of power.

Other than that, the direction the show’s plot will take remains a mystery. Fans will just have to wait and see what Star Wars’ latest has in store for us.
