Genius takes on a unique twist to the anthology format. Following real-life geniuses, season 3 meant to follow Frankenstein author Mary Shelley. Cynthia Erivo then took the role of Aretha Franklin, the “Queen of Soul.”

Finally, Anya Taylor-Joy earned a nomination for her role as Beth Harmon in The Queen’s Gambit. The show proved to be a powerhouse, already claiming nine Emmy wins at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Sept. 11 and 12. However, it looked to boost that number even higher.

While WandaVision saw the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first foray into straight-to-streaming content on Disney+, such a huge profile show focused plenty of eyes on the first-timer at the Emmys, Elizabeth Olsen.
