Green confirmed their breakup

Ever since Fox was seen with Machine Gun Kelly, rumors have been ramping up about whether she and Green broke up or if she was cheating on him. During his podcast ...With Brian Austin Green, the actor confirmed that he and Fox are “trying to sort of be apart.”

It came as a surprise to their fans that Fox and Green actually split at the end of 2019, but he explained they “made the decision early on to not comment” about their relationship but he wanted “to be able to clear the air on everything that’s going on” and provide context.

“I wanted it coming from my mouth. I wanted people to hear everything from me and then this is it,” Green shared. “I don’t want to have to talk about this anymore.”

He explained why they split

The actor shared how he had a dream about them splitting up last fall when Fox was away shooting a movie for 5 weeks.

“About 3 weeks into her being gone and shooting, I had a dream, which most people dream, but I don’t ever remember my dreams… but, I had this dream that she came back from work, and that we were distant, that things were off, that things were weird,” he explained.

When he texted her to share the dream, he said she was “shocked” but assured him that things were fine, but when she got back from shooting, he said that things were “almost exactly” like his dream.

Green noted, “But, I gave her a few weeks, I figured you know, she’s been out of the country, she’s jet-lagged, she’s been shooting nights, I have to give her some time to recoup a little bit and get back into life. And, so, I did.”

When he asked her about their relationship a couple of weeks later, she admitted that something had changed while she was away. “She said, ‘You know, I realized while I was out of the country working alone that I feel more like myself, and I liked myself better during that experience, and I think that may be something worth trying for me,’” he recalled.

“And, I was shocked and I was upset about it, but I can’t be upset at her, and I wasn’t upset at her because that’s, she didn’t ask to feel that way, it wasn’t a choice she made, that’s the way she honestly felt,” Green added.

He shared how they decided to “take some space” initially but eventually “reality started sinking in” and they decided to divorce rather than potentially face a “volatile situation.”

“There’s no reason for it to be [that way] with us,” he explained. “Neither one of us did anything to each other, she’s always been honest with me and I’ve always been honest with her.”

He continued, “I will always love her and I know she will always love me and I know as far as a family, what we have built is really cool and it’s really special. So we decided let’s make sure that we don’t lose that. That no matter what we’re always friends with each other and we’re a united front with the kids.”

Green addressed the Machine Gun Kelly rumors

Green also used his platform to clear up any rumors about Fox and Machine Gun Kelly (who he calls by his real name, Colson), saying he doesn’t want them to be “vilified.”

“I don’t want this guy Colson, who I have never met, who she said nothing but really kind things about, I don’t want him to be vilified because nobody did anything wrong,” he explained. “It’s not like we are separating or anything because somebody cheated or somebody hurt somebody.”

Green continued, “I feel like people are on paths in life sometimes and you’re on the same path, and you walk that path together, and things are working and then paths just kind of separate sometimes.”

The actor shared that Fox said Machine Gun Kelly is a “good friend, which she needed” during her split from Green and he has a very mature outlook on it. “I don’t want her to be looked at in a negative way or him to be looked at it in a negative way for doing that. That’s what good people do. Good people step up and help people that need help, and that’s what he’s doing,” he shared.
