Bella twins both had boys in summer 2020

Brie and husband Daniel Bryan welcomed son Buddy on August 1, 2020. Big sister Birdie was ready and waiting for her new baby brother. Yet for Nikki and fiancé Artem Chigvintsev of Dancing With the Stars, son Mateo was their first addition to their family, arriving within the same 24 hours as his cousin. The reality star spoke of her venture into motherhood.

“Being a new mom is so incredible,” Nikki shared, according to Today.com. “Creating this life and just watching Matteo grow has been the best experience and the best moments of my life so far. It goes by so fast.”

Planning the boys’ birthday bash together, Brie and Nikki have settled on a woodland theme to reflect their sons’ active nature.

“Our boys are wild, so we felt like there was no more perfect party than having kind of a woodland theme and calling it ‘the wild ones.'” Brie remarked. “We’re going to have a joint birthday party — I feel like it’s probably going to be the same for the boys for a majority of their lives.”

Nikki Bella counts on sister Brie’s parenting expertise

While Nikki wants be independent as a mom and trust her own instincts, she’s grateful for her twin’s expertise when she needs some input.

“You have to figure things out for yourself in those uncomfortable moments as a new mom,” Nikki said. “It makes you a better parent who knows how to handle situations when someone like Brie isn’t around, but I’ve also been blessed because I’ve had Brie in moments where a lot of people don’t have that person.”

The Total Bellas star recently called on Brie when she thought Matteo was choking after starting him on solid foods. Thankfully, Brie “sprinted across the street” to lend a hand.

“There’s definitely a point where you know a mother really has concern,” Brie explained. “With my sister I can either hear it in her voice or see it on her face when she legit doesn’t know what to do and she’s at the point of being scared or needing help. That’s definitely where I know to come in.”

Adjustments on the home front for the Bella twins

Nikki revealed that Mateo’s arrival has deepened her relationship with Chigvintsev, and even created a bit more chemistry.

“We’ll look at each other and go, ‘Oh my gosh you’re such an amazing mom, you’re such an amazing dad,'” Nikki said. “Being parents together has really made our relationship stronger, and how I see him teach Matteo and how he plays with Mateo literally melts my heart. It’s probably a bigger turn on now than anything ever was a turn on back then.”
