Where did Britney Spears grow up?

Spears grew up in Kentwood, Louisiana and by the age of two, she was already singing and dancing. By the time the pop singer turned eight, she was auditioning for Disney’s The All-New Mickey Mouse Club. Though the show’s producers thought the “Toxic” singer was too young for the show, they encouraged her parents to get her an agent.

As a result, she began spending her summers at the Professional Performing Arts School in New York City, finally earning a role on The All-New Mickey Mouse Club at age 11. However, it wasn’t until her debut studio album, 1999’s Baby One More Time that Spears’ fame skyrocketed.

She’s earned a record deal with Jive Records at age 15 and the lead single from the album became the fastest-selling single ever by a female artist. In just a few short years, the “Circus” singer was a long way from Louisiana.

Did Britney Spears go to college?

With her fame skyrocketing in her mid-to-late teens, Spears never got the opportunity to go to college. However, she did have major hopes that she would one day. “I’d really like to go to college,” Spears told the media when she was 18 via E! News. “It would be good to have a break from the music industry for a while.”

Unfortunately, Spears never got the chance to peruse a higher education as she’s hoped. Her career continued to be massively successful with hits like “Oops!… I Did It Again,” “I’m a Slave 4 U,” “Me Against the Music,” “Piece of Me.” She also starred in the movie Crossroads as well as the reality show, Britney & Kevin: Chaotic. Spears was in a high-profile relationship with the singer, Justin Timberlake and married Keven Federline in her early 20s.

Then in 2007, she began dealing with some mental health issues that forced her out of the spotlight for some time. As a result, her father, Jamie Spears had the singer put on a “5150 hold” in a psychiatric hospital and he was given the legal right to oversee and make decisions regarding his daughter’s finances, health, business deals, and personal life.
