It’s (almost) official: Britney Spears and Sam Asghari are reportedly tying the knot in an intimate ceremony in California on Thursday, June 9. The pair became engaged in September 2021, and they’ve kept most of the details of their wedding private. Spears revealed months ago that Donatella Versace is designing her wedding dress, though few other details about the couple’s nuptials have been made public.

Spears and Asghari dated for about five years before Asghari proposed last fall. The two met back in 2016 on the set of Spears’ music video for “Slumber Party.” According to Us Weekly, Asghari played Spears’ romantic interest in the video — and sparks flew off-screen, too. The two dated quietly up until January 2017, when Spears went Instagram official with their relationship. Asghari planned a romantic proposal for Spears last September; he proposed at her home with a 3.5 carat ring.
Asghari stood beside Spears throughout her ongoing legal battle to end her conservatorship, a wish that was granted back in November 2021. Since then, the two also announced a pregnancy, though Spears later announced that she and Asghari had miscarried. Spears did not previously reveal a wedding date, but the two are apparently tying the knot on June 9.

The extended details of the wedding are unknown, though we can assume Spears will go into greater detail on her Instagram after the two walk down the aisle.
Spears did make a comment about her wedding dress, which will be a Versace design. Back in November 2021, Spears posted to Instagram, per Vanity Fair, that “Donatella Versace is making my dress as we speak.” However, Spears didn’t provide much detail about what her dream gown would look like, but it’s clear the dress will come with a hefty price tag given the luxury designer’s other work.

According to Hello! Magazine, Asghari didn’t hesitate to give Spears an over-the-top engagement ring. Her fiancé designed the ring in partnership with Roman Malayev at Forever Diamonds New York to craft the perfect piece of jewelry, which is valued at a whopping $70,000. Plus, the Forever Diamonds website also noted a secret diamond and a hidden message were placed inside the ring.
“This floating solitaire setting is further enhanced by pavé detailing on the bridge, flush set diamond detailing on the prongs and basket, and a secret diamond beneath the bridge,” the website read, per Hello! Magazine.
Spears has maintained a colorful social media presence for several years, so it’s safe to say she’ll likely give plenty of detail on the couple’s special day once all is said and done.
