Britney Spears’ Lawyer Gave the Best Reason to Remove Her Father Now

A new court filing from Britney Spears’ lawyer shines even more light on why the pop legend hopes to have her father immediately removed as conservator of her estate. And his angle is pretty hard to argue against.

The details are heartbreaking, and the impacts of the conservatorship are far-reaching for not only Spears, but also her children. Now her lawyer has explained how her sons are a big part of the reason her father should have already been removed.

The public is firmly on her side. As the case seems to be growing ever closer to a resolution that will see her in a much healthier arrangement, more people begin to wonder how she’s been living in silence all this time.

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline were ‘Chaotic’

Spears met and fell in love with Kevin Federline early in the new millennium. Their reality show Chaotic wasn’t one of the most well-liked shows, but surely long-time Spears fans will remember it. It didn’t seem scripted like some other reality shows about couples.

They seemed like they were really in love — at least for the moment. However, it didn’t last. They married in 2004 and Spears gave birth to two sons before the couple split in 2007.

The conservatorship began in 2008. It was then that her relationship with her children began to rely more heavily on the actions of her father.

Over the years, the court limited her custody rights to the point that she and Federline were in an arrangement heavily in his favor. People reported in 2019 that her custodial rights had been limited to ten percent and all her time with the kids was required to be supervised. She was reportedly paying more than $20k in child support monthly.

A court granted a restraining order to protect Spears’ son from her father

New court documents refer to a restraining order her minor sons are under to protect them against their grandfather, Jamie Spears.

The alleged incident that catalyzed the order occurred in Sept. 2019. Spears’ son Sean Preston was 13 at the time and reportedly locked himself in a room. A source told People that Jamie Spears broke down the door and behaved in a manner which left the child “scared and upset.”

Spears’ other son, Jayden, was also said to be present during the altercation between Sean Preston and his grandfather.

Federline requested and received a restraining order to protect himself and Spears’ sons from domestic violence. The source said Spears was very upset that her father further jeopardized her relationship with her children. Her rights to them had already been severely restricted.

Spears’ lawyer explicitly named this restraining order as a chief reason Jamie Spears needs to be immediately removed from the conservatorship. Unfortunately, she’ll never win back time lost with her children due to her inability to get away from her father.

Britney Spears celebrated her engagement with a social media hiatus

Spears is now engaged to Sam Ashgari, and she took a break from social media to celebrate the momentous event. Fans immediately noticed her absence, but she quickly returned with more dancing videos to delight her Instagram following.

Hopefully more good news is on the horizon for her. A judge is expected to decide whether to remove Jamie Spears as conservator of her estate at a hearing scheduled for Sept. 29.
