BTS performed at the ā€˜New Yearā€™s Rockinā€™ Eveā€™ in Times Square

What better way to ring in the new year than with an iconic BTS performance. The chart-topping, award-winning K-pop group took over Times Square, appearing on the holiday show, Dick Clarkā€™s New Yearā€™s Rockinā€™ Eve to perform two songs.

BTS first performed ā€œMake It Rightā€ at the iconic Times Square red stairs before heading to the stage for one of their most popular songs, ā€œBoy With Luv.ā€ Unfortunately, Halsey didnā€™t jump out for this performance, but there were plenty of cute and quirky moments for fans to enjoy. 2020 is not the first time BTS performed at this holiday celebration

In 2017, BTS took the stage in Los Angeles, performing during the same New Yearā€™s Eve show. Hot off the heels of their win at the Billboard Music Awards, the group performed their song, ā€œDNA.ā€ Since then, the groupā€™s kept themselves busy, recently collaborating with the Korean sportswear company, Fila.

During the holiday season, BTS performed at the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour, alongside artists like Billie Eilish, Sam Smith, and Lizzo. Halsey even joined them on stage for a performance of ā€œBoy With Luv.ā€ Now, with a Times Square performance under their belt, BTS is ready for 2020 and an upcoming tour, announced by their management company, Big Hit Entertainment.

ā€œOkay listen this is what the New Yearā€™s Rockin Eve audience looks like. BTS [is] going to perform in front of the 1 million people atā€¦ Times Square. Phew, Iā€™m not even there but I am suddenly having an anxiety attack. This is HUGE HUGE and not to mention thereā€™s a live stream, too,ā€ said one Twitter user, sharing a picture of the crowd.

ā€œItā€™s no secret that BTS was going to slay that performance. Iā€™m shook. Those guys never fail to amaze me,ā€ another Twitter user said. Some people who have never seen BTS before shared their reactions on Twitter.

ā€œWatched BTS play #NYRE just now in a room full of people who havenā€™t seen them live before and everyone was [shocked,]ā€ one Twitter user wrote. ā€œThey did what they had to do!
