We are in the midst of unprecedented times. Along with our day to day activities, the entertainment industry has come to a screeching halt. At present, movie theaters across the globe are shuttered and productions have stopped. Though new music is still being premiered, concerts and festivals have officially been canceled or postponed.

Ahead of all of the madness, BTS dropped their latest album, Map of the Soul: 7. The album was released on Feb. 21, and though RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, Jungkook, and V did a ton of promotion, dropping music videos and doing interviews, all of that has since stopped.

Now, BTS’ ARMY is concerned that amid everything, the guys won’t be able to release a second album this year.

BTS’ schedule has changed drastically

Like it has for many of us, the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has drastically altered the lives of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, Jungkook, and V. Their management company, Big Hit Entertainment has taken intensive measures to protect the health of the band and their fans.

Thus far, Big Hit has moved BTS’ global press conference online, canceled their Seoul tour dates, postponed their European ticket sales, and BTS has been performing without a live audience for several Korean music programs.

“We announced a comeback but there is no audience,” RM said on a March 10 VLIVE. “Like a spell, we kept saying we have to be okay. Same thing for the concert, too. It [was] really hard. I have no energy. We prepared a lot.”

BTS is still sharing new content with their fans

As of right now, BTS has not canceled their North American or Japanese tour dates. However, with major events like the 2020 Olympics and the Met Gala being canceled or pushed back, that could change at any time.

Thankfully, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, Jungkook, and V have been adamant about keeping up with their fans through other avenues including documentaries, Run BTS! episodes, and BangtanTV clips.

The BTS ARMY as always has been extremely supportive. When Big Hit Entertainment announced the cancelation of BTS’ Seoul tour, fans responded by donating funds to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus. The only way we will get through this is by doing so together.

BTS might not debut another album in 2020

Typically, BTS has dropped two albums per year. However, with everything from Map of the Soul: 7 being pushed back, there may not be room for another album this year. According to a fan translation by @BTSChartDaily, Maeil Business Newspaper reported, “@BTS_twt has decided not to release another album this year and will focus on the world tour instead.”

Big Hit Entertainment has not yet confirmed this news. However, considering the way things are going, we would not be shocked. Nevertheless, when BTS is able to get back on the stage, we know that they are going to deliver.

Also, if we have to wait until 2021 for an epic BTS comeback we’re sure that the guys are going to make it worth our while. Thankfully, they will be staying engaged with their fans until then.
