Cameron Boyce died in his sleep on July 6, 2019. His cause of death was attributed to a seizure related to an “ongoing medical condition,” reports ABC News. In a statement, a Disney Channel spokesperson wrote about Boyce’s talent and his kindness toward others:

From a young age, Cameron Boyce dreamed of sharing his extraordinary artistic talents with the world. He was an incredibly talented performer, a remarkably caring and thoughtful person and, above all else, he was a loving and dedicated son, brother, grandson and friend. We offer our deepest condolences to his family, castmates and colleagues and join his many millions of fans in grieving his untimely passing. He will be dearly missed.

Cameron Boyce caught the acting bug at a young age

Boyce became interested in performing at a young age. He found his way to the entertainment world through dance. “His love of performing began in a dance studio, which then transitioned him into commercials, and not long after television and film,” said the Disney Channel in Boyce’s biography.

Boyce made his film debut in the 2008 movie Mirrors, in which he played the role of Michael Carson. That same year, he made an appearance in the film Eagle Eye. He played the character Sam Holloman. Next, Boyce landed a recurring role on the television series General Hospital: Night Shift, in which he played the character Michael ‘Stone’ Cates Jr.

The Descendants star rose to popularity after appearing in the Disney Channel series Jessie. He played the role of Luke Ross for 98 episodes. Boyce also starred in the television series Jake and the Never Land Pirates. He played the role of Jake/ ChillyZack from 2012 to 2015. His other television acting credits include Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything and Descendants: Wicked World.

Boyce remained busy. Before his death, he was filming the HBO series Mrs. Fletcher, alongside actress Kathryn Hahn. He was also filming the independent film Runt. Furthermore, the Disney star was working on the television series Paradise City. He was set to play the role of Simon. Boyce had just completed filming Disney’s Descendants 3.
