Diaz’s acting career began with 1994’s The Mask. She played Jim Carrey’s love interest, Tina Carlyle. The movie’s success put her on Hollywood’s radar. After The Mask, she’d go on to have roles in other movies such as She’s The One and Feeling Minnesota

‘Being John Malkovich’ earned Cameron Diaz a Golden Globe nod

A dark comedy directed by Spike Jonze, Diaz plays the role of Lotte, Craig’s wife. Being John Malkovich follows an out of work puppeteer Craig Schwartz (John Cusack) as he takes a temporary job as a file clerk.

One day at work, Cusack’s character finds a portal inside the mind of actor John Malkovich, who stars as himself in the film.

Opening to critical acclaim, Being John Malkovich has a 93% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Diaz’s role in the movie earned her nominations for both a Golden Globe and a SAG Award, according to IMDb

Almost a year later to the day, Charlie’s Angels, a movie that Diaz would later say made her healthier, would hit theaters. Diaz starred in one of three lead roles alongside Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu.

Cameron Diaz plays a princess in ‘Shrek’ …

Hitting theaters on April 22, 2001, Shrek proved to be extremely popular with moviegoers. In the animated film from Dreamworks, Diaz lends her voice to the character, Princess Fiona.

She stars in the film opposite Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, and John Lithgow. Earning upwards of $487 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo, Shrek launched a franchise.

The film has an 88% Rotten Tomatoes score.

Diaz reprised her role as Princess Fiona in 2004’s Shrek 2. Earning a score of 89% on Rotten Tomatoes, the film did what many sequels do not, outperform the original. Shrek 2 grossed more than $928 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo
