Things aren’t looking too good for Camila Cabello as of late. Despite the release of her highly anticipated second album, Romance, Cabello’s past has finally caught up with her. The Fifth Harmony alum has been in the news for several months due to her romantic relationship with Shawn Mendes. Attempting to ride the wave of the media storm surrounding her, Cabello released her new album — but fans haven’t exactly responded as she and her team expected.

Now, it looks like Cabello’s racist past is affecting her shockingly low tour sales.

Camila Cabello’s racist posts have resurfaced

Cabello has long been accused of being racist and calling her ex-Fifth Harmony bandmate, Normani, the n-word. At the time the “Señorita” songstress issued a vague apology without really owning up to her behavior. However, in December 2019, the singer’s other posts using horrific and foul language resurfaced.

In the posts, Cabello used racist language against African Americans and Asians. She also used the n-word and made fun of Rihanna following her domestic violence incident with Chris Brown. The backlash was swift and immediate forcing Cabello to take to social media and finally apologize.

“When I was younger, I used language that I’m deeply ashamed of and will regret forever,” she said. “I was uneducated and ignorant and once I became aware of the history and the weight and the true meaning behind this horrible and hurtful language, I was deeply embarrassed I ever used it. I apologize then and I apologize again now. I’m 22 now, I’m an adult and I’ve grown and learned and am conscious and aware of the history and the pain it carries in a way I wasn’t before.”

Camila Cabello’s career is in jeopardy

In addition to the racist posts, Cabello has also been accused of stealing from other artists with her Romance album merchandize and her songs. Fans are also not buying her apology.

“This isn’t the first time Camila Cabello been called out as a racist. Being a teenager doesn’t excuse that kind of behavior; you’re definitely old enough to know better And to defend her by saying she was young is bs because Black kids aren’t allowed any passes in this world,” someone else said.

Another added, “They said it was fake for years!!! Everything we said about Camila Cabello being racist is TRUE she’s forever done and so is her stans for lying and hiding when they knew for so long.”

Camila Cabello’s tour has only sold half of its tickets

Cabello’s Romance tour is also doing rather poorly. The tour is set to begin in Oslo, Norway, on May 26, 2020 — but the singer is having trouble filling the seats. For the North American leg of Cabello’s tour, only 25,855 tickets have been sold since December 4, 2019, with (48,624 total tickets available).

“Today we hear the tale of the prospective superstar diva who’s had a couple of massive hits but has discovered to her dismay—and that of her team—that her new tour is in deep trouble,” Hits Daily Double said in a blind item. “Said superstar in waiting has achieved social-network ubiquity and does every TV opp, every radio show, every chance to be in the public eye—if her team had its way, one manager quipped, she’d be at every envelope opening.”

No matter what age, we are always responsible for the hurtful things we do and say.
