‘God Is a Woman’ is one of Ariana Grande’s most popular songs

“God Is a Woman” is one of Ariana Grande’s biggest songs. It was released as the second single from her fourth album, Sweetener. Produced by ILYA, he wrote the song along with Grande, Max Martin, Savan Kotecha, and Rickard Göransson. The song reached No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100. A music video was released and it has been viewed more than 250 million times on YouTube.

Grande also performed the song in a now-iconic performance at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards. Her mother, grandmother and cousin were a part of the set.

Camila Cabello says she was originally supposed to release ‘God Is a Woman’

Cabello stopped by SiriusXM’s Radio Andy when she was asked about the demo of her singing a portion of “God Is a Women.” The small snippet of her version of the song has been circulating on the internet for a while

“I think they had a chorus for the song and then I wrote verses to it. It didn’t end up sounding right for me,” she said.

Once Cabello passed on the song, it ended up with Grande, who rewrote verses for it. “So then Ariana and everybody wrote to her version and it sounded amazing!” she said.

Cabello also says she’d like to work with Grande. “I love her. She’s my friend. It would be awesome.”

Fans don’t respond well to Cabello’s reveal

It seems like a lot of fans were not here for Cabello stating that the song was initially hers. Referencing the song’s title, one fan tweeted, “God knew where it needed to go.” Another said, “She just needs to be grateful she has a career. Like humble yourself sis, QUICKLY.” Someone else added, “I love ari and camila, but god is a woman definitely belongs to ari.”

However, several people try to keep the peace between the fandoms. “It’s funny Camila passed on the song because she didn’t feel it fit her, which is a blessing. Sometimes a song doesn’t fit someone and that’s ok. The producers and writers rewrote the song and made it a masterpiece. There’s no need for hate towards this woman, yall are so poor,” said one person.

Cabello’s latest album, Romance, is now streaming on all major platforms.
