Camilla Parker Bowles Has Been ‘Suspicious’ About Meghan Markle ‘From the Outset,’ Royal Author Says

When Meghan Markle first joined the royal family in 2018, it seemed that many royals welcomed her with open arms. However, in recent years, there have been reports of her allegedly not getting along with some royals. For example, one royal author claims that Camilla Parker Bowles has been “suspicious” of the Duchess of Sussex from the beginning.

Camilla Parker Bowles reportedly gave Meghan Markle advice

In 2020, a source told the Daily Mail that Camilla once had lunch with Meghan when the latter first joined the royal family. The report painted a picture of a good relationship between the two women.

“Meg was really grateful to Camilla who was very supportive and invited her out for private lunches, particularly around the time of her marriage,” the friend alleged. “She listened to her and understood that it’s really difficult joining the Royal Family from an otherwise ‘normal’ life. Much like Meghan, Camilla had experienced a lot of negative press and hostility from courtiers due to her relationship with Charles when he was still married to Diana.”

The insider added, “She was very sensitive to Meghan and provided her with support, advising her to ride out the storm and that it would all pass – but ultimately Meghan didn’t listen.”

A royal author says that Camilla Parker Bowles has always been ‘suspicious’ of Meghan Markle

According to royal author Tom Bower, the Duchess of Cornwall actually had some suspicions about Meghan. He alleged that the two women did not actually get along that well.

“It is believed that [Meghan] has never liked Camilla, and I am sure the feelings are reciprocated,” Bower told The Sun. “From the outset, Camilla was suspicious about the adventuress from Los Angeles. She found it hard to believe that Meghan would sacrifice her career and independence to serve silently as a team player devoted to the monarchy.”

However, Bower claimed that Camilla kept her feelings about Meghan in order to support Prince Charles.

Bower added, “But, as in all her conduct, Camilla remained tight-lipped. While watching Charles painfully believe that Harry was intent on publicly humiliating him, Camilla undoubtedly provided the comfort and good advice to reassure her husband that he had done the best he could. She could comfort him that while his authority is challenged by the Sussex’s, he would emerge victorious.”

Bower also believes Camilla is “the sort who would refer to Meghan as ‘that minx’ — the self-seeking trouble- maker whose antics will always end in tears.”

Other royal family members allegedly also had concerns about Meghan Markle

In late 2021, author Christopher Andersen also claimed that Kate Middleton also had some suspicions about Meghan. However, this was because Kate is simply a private person.

“By all accounts, [Kate is] charming and very intelligent,” Andersen said. “But she’s also suspicious of outsiders. She delayed even meeting Meghan. And I think that confused Meghan in the beginning. Frankly, it must have insulted her. But they did get along. In the beginning, they were all known as ‘The Fab Four.’ But things aren’t so fab anymore.”

Meanwhile, in 2018, royal reporter Dan Wootton alleged that Queen Elizabeth warned Harry about Meghan’s “behaviour and attitude” after Meghan reportedly had a conflict concerning tiaras before her wedding.
