Will Camilla Parker Bowles’s Children Get Royal Titles When Prince Charles Becomes King?
The royal family line of succession can be a bit confusing at times. When family members get married or have children, like Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles, positions are constantly changing. Only a few people fall in the direct line of succession, but the fact of the matter remains that all of Queen Elizabeth’s descendants do hold a place in line for the British throne.
This in itself is complex enough, but further complicating things is the matter of royal titles. Not everyone in the family has one, and it is even said that some members of the British royal family won’t get a title until some point in the future.
We know that Prince Charles’s two sons, William and Harry, and Will’s children have titles. However, Charles’s wife, Camilla Parker Bowles, has children from a previous marriage. So will Camilla’s children get royal titles when their stepfather, Prince Charles, becomes king?
Camilla Parker Bowles’s first marriage
There is no denying that Charles and Camilla have been in love for years. Their relationship dates back to the 1970s, when the two were absolutely smitten with each other. However, they parted ways and went on to marry other people. Charles tied the knot with Diana Spencer. According to Town & Country, Camilla went on to marry Andrew Parker Bowles.
During their marriage, the former couple welcomed two children, Tom and Laura, who can now count several future kings as part of their blended family. While we don’t see much of Camilla’s children, they have appeared at some functions over the years. Most notably their mother’s marriage to Prince Charles.
According to Good Housekeeping, one of the most interesting facts about the relationship between Camilla’s son and husband is that before Camilla married into the royal family, Charles actually became Tom’s godfather, years before he was able to call him his stepson.
Do Camilla’s children have titles?
It can easily be assumed that as soon as someone is born or married into the royal family, they get a title, but this is not always the case. Even Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s two kids do not have titles, and they are in the royal family bloodline.
So, what about Tom and Laura? While there is no doubt that they are close with Charles, they are not considered “official” royal family members and do not hold any royal titles. Yahoo! News reports that although Charles has been a part of Tom and Laura’s life for years, they are not known as princes, princesses, or any other title and tend to keep themselves out of the spotlight.

While it is true that the children of the Duchess of Cornwall do not hold royal titles currently, many royal fans may be wondering if this changes when their stepfather becomes king. Charles is next in line to become the ruling monarch, and Camilla will be the queen consort.
According to Insider, they most likely will not have titles, given that they don’t have them currently. Reader’s Digest reports that Tom and Laura are close with their mother and the other members of the royal family. Still, they only attend a few royal functions every year, so they probably aren’t all too concerned with royal titles anyhow.
While the relationship is definitely fine, when it comes to having titles of their own, Tom says that “My mother married into it. She’s part of it. We’re the common children. We’re just on the side.”
