Cardi B made headlines for her confrontation with Nicki Minaj at a Fashion Week event. But she has been accused of being involved in another altercation by someone else and is being charged for assault. So what allegedly happened and what does that mean for Cardi B’s future? Here are three things you need to know.

1. Cardi B was at a strip club when two bartenders were allegedly attacked

The incident happened on Aug. 15 at Angels Strip Club in Queens. According to Vanity Fair, police claimed that two bartenders were attacked with bottles and chairs because one of them was accused of having an affair with Cardi B’s husband, Offset.

Cardi B was reportedly not physically part of the attack, but several people who were with her were allegedly involved. According to The Associated Press, a bartender and another employee were slightly injured.

2. Lawyer, Joseph Tacopina accused her of planning the attack

Joseph Tacopina who is representing the two bartenders seems to agree that Cardi B didn’t physically get involved in the altercation. But he does accuse her of planning it.

“Apparently, she thinks her celebrity status puts her above the law since she has bragged to multiple people and on social media that she orchestrated these vicious attacks,” he told the New York Times. “But reality is setting in.”

3. She has been charged with one count of assault and two counts of reckless endangerment

On Oct.1, the rapper turned herself in to the N.Y.P.D. Flushing precinct. She is charged with one count of assault and two counts of reckless endangerment. They are all misdemeanors.

Her lawyer, Jeff Kern, told The Associated Press, “We are aware of no evidence that she caused anybody any harm from that night.” He then said, “We expect the matter to be resolved expeditiously.”

According to Vanity Fair, Cardi B is due back in court on Oct. 29 to answer charges.
