Cardi B is a Certified Car-Lover — Does She Know How to Drive?
Cardi B is one of the most popular musicians today, and her marriage with Offset has created one of the music world’s most powerful power couples. They both love to give gifts to each other, and one of their most popular gift choices is a car. This has led to the two owning many cars, usually of the expensive and exotic variety. But, while she owns those expensive cars, she, unlike many Americans, don’t use them for the same reasons.
A brief look at Cardi B’s career so far
Cardi B did not have the most usual start in the industry. Unlike many of her peers, Cardi B was in a gang when she was young and when she became an adult, she took up a job as a stripper. She was always an entertainer at heart though, so it didn’t take her long before she found her way into the showbiz world when she got on VH1’s reality show, Love & Hip Hop: New York.
From there, it was just a matter of time until she was able to show off her musical talents to the rest of the world. Nowadays, she’s a very successful musician who’s married to another successful musician, Offset. They have one kid together, and while their relationship seems rocky, they’ve been chugging along as one of the industry’s most powerful couples.
The many cars in Cardi B’s garage
Since the two seem to really enjoy giving each other expensive gifts, unsurprisingly, they also have many cars in their garage. One of the most recent ones was a gift from Offset for her birthday. It was, as Offset claimed, the first Lamborghini Urus sold in America. The Urus is Lamborghini’s most recent SUV. Like any other Lamborghini, the Urus is fast, powerful, and, at $200,000, expensive, too.
The power couple also has a matching pair of Lamborghini Aventadors, according to Hot Cars. One is green and the other is blue and these 700-hp supercars both cost about $400,000 each. They also have a Rolls-Royce Wraith, which is a 600-hp, $300,000 car. The two don’t just have expensive supercars, though, they also have some more practical ones.
In terms of SUVs, Hot Cars said that they have many options. The two have a BMW X5 which, while it’s not too expensive for a celebrity, is a great SUV nonetheless. Another more affordable SUV that the two have is a Chevy Suburban, which many regular Americans own. That said, true to their expensive tastes, they also have a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen that starts at over $130,000.
Can Cardi B drive any of her cars?
Those weren’t the only cars in her garage, and there are just too many to list. But, despite having so many cars, she doesn’t actually know how to drive them. She told this to James Corden when she appeared on ‘Carpool Karaoke’. Corden tried to teach her how to drive, but it’s clear that she really doesn’t know how to.
This isn’t all that surprising since she grew up in New York City. New York City has such a great public transportation system that many of its residents don’t need to drive and so, many never learn how to. But of course, this makes people wonder why Cardi B has so many cars in the first place.
Corden asked her about that and her response was simple, “To take pictures with it.” As she said, while she can’t drive, she can also work her cars into her music and career. So, in a way, her lavish collection of luxury cars is more of an investment into her career than anything else.
