Underwood first auditioned for the singing competition American Idol back in 2004, when she was only 21, but the show didn’t actually air until January 2005. And since then, she’s built a massive career. Underwood went all the way to the top, beating out Bo Bice to become the season 4 winner of the show. And since then, she’s become one of country music’s most famous names.

Underwood has produced multiple best-selling albums, performed plenty of sold-out shows, and has won many awards for her music. Still, she finds a way to balance immense fame with family time.

Since then, she’s been married and has welcomed two boys

Back in 2008, Underwood started dating her now-husband, Mike Fisher. Fisher was a professional hockey player with the Ottawa Senators at the time, but he was traded to the Nashville Predators in part so he could be closer to his wife. In 2015, Underwood welcomed the couple’s first child, a son named Isaiah. Four years later, the couple welcomed their second child, a son named Jacob.

Underwood went through some difficulties trying to have another baby. She revealed in an interview that she had gone through three miscarriages prior to welcoming her second child. It’s unclear if the two plan to have more children.

Underwood celebrated her 37th birthday on March 10, and Fisher posted a sweet photo to mark the occasion.
