Joe Rogan Thinks Manny Pacquiao Could Become a World Champion Pool Player After He Retires From Boxing — ‘He Might Win Some World Championships’

Manny Pacquiao has long been known as one of the greatest boxers of all time, but boxing isn’t the only sport he’s great at. Believe it or not, he’s a phenomenal pool player as well, according to Joe Rogan.

Rogan went into detail about Pacquiao’s world-class pool talent during a recent episode of his podcast.

Rogan spoke on Pacquiao’s impressive skill as a pool player while hosting Tony Hinchcliffe on The Joe Rogan Experience

“Manny Pacquiao’s a killer pool player,” Rogan said. “Oh God, like world-class.”

Diving deeper, Rogan explains just how good Pacquiao is. Apparently, Pacquiao frequently competes with professional pool players and gives them a run for their money.

“Manny Pacquiao could play professional,” he adds. “Yeah, like, he gambles with professionals. Yeah, my friend Max Eberle, … he’s a legit pro. Like, Max is like, world champion caliber pro, and he’s gambled with Manny Pacquiao. And he said Manny Pacquiao is good. He says you have to really bear down to beat him.

Joe Rogan thinks Manny Pacquiao could become a professional pool player

To further prove his point, Rogan then plays a video of Pacquiao playing pool by himself. In the video, Pacquiao can be seen effortlessly knocking object balls into the pockets of a pool table.

“He’s super legit, and he’s got a great stroke, and he’s also left-handed, …” Rogan said. “Look how good he is! Dude, seriously, look how f—ing good he is. … He plays really good. Like I said, if I saw him in a tournament and I didn’t know it was Manny Pacquiao, I’d be like, ‘Oh, this guy is really good.’ He’s a pro.”

“If Manny decides to retire from fighting and goes into professional pool, he might win some world championships, like, no bulls—.”

Joe Rogan is good at pool, too

Although Rogan gives his praises to Pacquiao, Rogan himself is a decent pool player in his own right. Years ago, Rogan used to spend a lot of time in pool halls, playing against both amateurs and professionals.

On a different episode of his podcast, he recalls visiting a world-famous pool hall in New Jersey and watching world-class professionals compete.

“There used to be a place called … West End Billiards, I think, in New Jersey, …” Rogan said. “It was a world-famous pool hall, we would take the drive from New York to go down to New Jersey to this famous pool hall that would have these like, serious, high-level professionals play there. And real, high-level hustlers from all over the country would go there for big-money games. You go there and watch people play for $5,000, $10,000. I mean, the best in the world would be there all time.”

During Rogan’s visits to the storied pool hall, he was more than just a spectator. He competed in tournaments against professionals for large sums of money, although he frequently lost.

“I got to play against some of the best in the world,” Rogan said. “They killed me, but I got to play against them. Like, real good guys.”
