Celine Dion shares whether she will date again

Dion has been open about life after her husband’s death. On a recent visit to the Today show, she talked about the possibility of dating again, especially since it has been five years since Angelil died.

“I don’t know. I have no idea,” she responded to the question of whether her heart is “opening up again to love.”

She explained, “Right this second, love is so big right now in my life—with my kids, with life itself. I’m not thinking about a relationship and falling in love again. I don’t. Do I have to say that it will never happen anymore? No. I don’t know. I don’t know.”

She had previously told the Today show that, although she wasn’t focusing on finding love, there were still some things she missed about having a partner.

Dion said (via Oprah Daily), “I’m very lucky and happy to have so many people in my surrounding to make me… they make me laugh, but I miss to be touched. I miss to be hugged. I missed to be told, ‘You’re beautiful.’ I miss what a boyfriend and I miss what a husband would do.

Angelil may be physically gone from Dion’s life, but the singer tries to stay connected to her late husband in many ways. For example, she once revealed she tried to learn as much from her husband as possible in the months before his death.

“We talked a lot and I took notes every day,” she told Bizarre’s Dan Wootton (via The Sun). “I had my Post-its and my crayons and my book, and everything he wanted or questioned, or he thought of, I wrote it down.”

When Angelil took his last breath, Dion was by his side. She recalled her words of reassurance, “I said, ‘I’m fine, the kids are fine, OK, everything is going to be OK. You taught me, you taught me well. I’m going to use it’. And that’s what I do every day — so Rene will never die.”
