‘Chicago Med’ Season 7 Episode 12 recap

Chicago Med Season 7 left off with episode 12, “What You Don’t Know Can’t Hurt You.” Hammer and Halstead dealt with a pregnant patient who was extremely wary of doctors. She refused a blood transfusion because she didn’t want blood from a vaccinated person and died shortly after giving birth. Meanwhile, Dr. Crockett Marcel observed a surgery performed by Dr. Pamela Blake, where everyone on the team suddenly collapsed.

Fans got an update on Dr. Ethan Choi, who has been recovering from spinal fusion surgery. Although Choi’s recovery seems to be going well, he deals with a tragedy in episode 12. Accompanied by Dr. Daniel Charles, Choi visits his father and eventually learns that he has been hiding the fact that he has a brain tumor. At the end of the episode, Choi receives news that his father died.

The drama escalated for Dr. Dylan Scott as well. He continued to treat the son of his old friends Tyrell and Carmen, who was recently diagnosed with cancer. To make matters more complicated, Tyrell holds a grudge against Scott for arresting him when he was a cop. Scott and Carmen used to date, and Tyrell snaps and attacks Scott when he sees the pair hug. Carmen might even become a future love interest for Scott.

What will happen during the rest of ‘Chicago Med’ Season 7?

One thing Chicago Med fans can know for sure is that Choi is not back for good on season 7 — yet. Showrunner Diane Frolov previously told TV Insider that he won’t return permanently to the show until episode 18. Choi obviously still has some healing to do before he is ready to jump back into work.

Co-showrunner Andrew Schneider also teased to TV Insider that romantic relationships for Dr. Dylan Scott and Dr. Daniel Charles are in the works for Chicago Med Season 7. Crockett will also likely face some relationship drama if Blake and her daughter Avery Quinn ever find out he has been romantically involved with both of them.
