Chris Hemsworth’s stature has served him well when it comes to landing roles. As Thor, he’s been putting in hard work at the gym to make sure he fits his role as the Asgardian worthy of Mjolnir. He’s also starred in action films like the well-received Extraction where he further flexes his muscles as an action star.

His brother, Liam Hemsworth, is no stranger to the action genre, either. Following in his older brother’s footsteps, Liam has featured in blockbusters like The Hunger Games, The Expendables 2, and Independence Day Resurgence.

Although there are many similarities between the two Hemsworths, there are slight differences as well. Namely when it comes to their height. But is Chris Hemsworth taller than his brother? And if he is, how big is the height difference?

Chris Hemsworth only has two brothers and is the middle child. The oldest of the Hemsworths is Luke. Like his brother Chris, Luke got his start in acting on the Australian television show Neighbors. Which Hemsworth Brother Has the Higher Net Worth?

According to Celebheights, Chris Hemsworth is reportedly above the average height for men being 6 feet, – 3 inches. His size has certainly helped him in getting roles, including arguably his most known role to date as Thor. Hemsworth revealed the part came with a height requirement he was more than qualified for.

“The brief for the audition for Thor said: must be over 6 ft 1 in, which I’d never seen before,” Hemsworth said in an interview with Radiotimes.

The reason that requirement came as such a shock is because Hemsworth is so tall he’s often lied about his height to get roles.

“There are certainly things I’ve wanted to go up for which I’ve been totally wrong for, physically,” Hemsworth admitted. “And I normally lie about my height and say I’m shorter. But it can go two ways.”

As tall as Hemsworth is, however, Liam Hemsworth actually barely edges out his older brother. Celebheights reports Liam Hemsworth stands at 6 feet, – 3 inches and some change, which narrowly beats out Hemsworth’s height at a flat 6 feet, – 3 inches. Liam has also claimed to be a flat 6 feet, – 3 inches according to Celebheights. In order to get an accurate reading of the two, photos were used comparing the Hemsworths standing next to each other, as well as standing next to various other celebrities.

Luke Hemsworth is reportedly the shortest Hemsworth brother standing at 5 feet, – 9 inches according to Celebheights.

Why Luke Hemsworth almost quit acting

Although Luke Hemsworth started acting earlier than his brothers, his career didn’t take off as fast as his siblings’ did. Luke confided that he wasn’t as serious with acting as his younger brother was.

“I don’t think I ever saw acting as an actual career, until late. Chris was much different,” Luke said according to Independent.“ That’s why I went down the road of getting a trade and doing flooring and supporting myself that way, because I never really saw coming to Los Angeles as an option.”

When he couldn’t find his breakthrough role, like how Chris Hemsworth did with Thor, Luke stopped pursuing his entertainment career. With him expecting his first child, he needed to focus on more reliable ways to provide for himself and his family.

“By that stage I had been in the acting industry and did a whole bunch of stuff and never quite cracked it in the way that I needed to have a career and be able to support myself,” Luke revealed. “I was in a dark place and it had to do with the fact that things had not gone in a direction I thought that they would.”

How Chris Hemsworth helped inspire his older brother

Things changed, however, when Chris Hemsworth saw his own career flourish by nabbing his role as the Asgardian prince. Having established himself as an Avenger and a movie star with Thor, Hemsworth hired his older brother for the sequel.

“I went and worked on Thor 2 as his personal trainer,” Luke revealed. “I had very little experience. But what I lacked in experience, I made up for in dedication.”

Luke received a nice payment for helping his brother get in shape. Afterward, with his career rekindled, he would later go on to star in HBO’s hit series Westworld. He’s also set to make another cameo appearance in the upcoming Marvel movie, Thor: Love and Thunder.
