Chrissy Teigen and John Legend began their respective careers as a model and a musician. However, they’ve done much more than that since then. The Voice coach and the self-taught chef have created a massive empire full of various businesses, organizations, and philanthropic work.

Still, until now, though they’ve been avid about supporting one another from Legend’s ventures in producing projects like WGN’s Underground and Netflix’s Jingle Jangle to Teigen’s Cravings and Get Safely, they’ve never actually taken on an acting project together.

Here’s what we know about their new Netflix movie.

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have numerous business ventures

From her cookbooks to her cookware under her Cravings by Chrissy Teigen brand, the model has paralleled her passions into various ventures and streams of income. Her most recent venture with Kris Jenner, Get Safely, is a plant-based cleaning product line.

Teigen has also had various endorsement deals and has worked with the now-defunct app Quibi. Her Grammy-Award-winning husband also does a great deal more than sing. His production company Gets Lifted has released everything from Netflix Giving Voice to the HBO docuseries Atlanta’s Missing and Murdered: The Lost Children.

Legend is also on several boards including the Equality Project, Stand for Children, Teach For America, the Harlem Village Academies, and PopTech.

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen are starring in Netflix’s ‘The Mitchells Vs. The Machines’

Up next, the duo has teamed up for the first movie together, Netflix’s animated adventure, The Mitchells Vs. The Machines. Written and directed by Michael Rianda and Jeff Rowe, there are no details just yet on Legend and Teigen’s characters, but we do have a description of the movie via Deadline.

“While driving to campus, soon-to-be film student Katie Mitchell (Abbi Jacobson) and her family come across a tech uprising, which leaves them to figure out how to save the world.”

The star-studded cast also includes Maya Rudolph, Eric Andre, Olivia Colman, and Danny McBride.

Obviously, this is a film that Teigen and Legend can enjoy with their two children Luna and Miles, but adults who love adventure can also indulge. The Mitchells Vs. The Machines will debut on Netflix on April 30.

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have another TV show coming out soon

The Mitchells Vs. The Machines isn’t the only project that Teigen and Legend have coming down the pipeline. They also have an unspecified TV project in the works. The model shared a clip from the project recently.

In the clip which she shared on Instagram, Teigen was delivering lines as a mushroom. However, it appears that Legend’s role in the project was quite a bit more glamorous. “Just for comparison, john got to be the king of music,” she quipped before tagging the Television Academy.

With so much going on behind the scenes, it looks like we will see a lot more of Teigen and Legend, especially when it comes to entertainment geared toward children, and we’re not mad about it at all.
