TL; DR:

  • Christina Haack’s overnight oats are her typical breakfast.
  • While the HGTV star usually flavors hers with cinnamon and banana she also has a recipe for Blueberry Muffin Overnight Oats.
  • The Christina on the Coast star likes drinking smoothies too.

Apparently, TV stars love oatmeal. Christina Haack’s overnight oats are a daily occurrence for the real estate and design expert. The Flip or Flop alum “always” eats them for breakfast.

Christina Haack’s overnight oats

Haack’s overnight oats are a staple in her house. “For breakfast, I always have overnight oats,” she said in a 2016 Cara Clark Nutrition blog post.

At the time, it had been five months since Haack had given birth to her now-6-year-old son, Brayden El Moussa. And as she explained, her current overnight oats recipe included almond milk, chia seeds, cinnamon, and sliced banana. She also said that on occasion, she likes to “mix it up” with berries, peanut butter, or a combination of the two.

The former Flip or Flop star added that her day doesn’t start with oatmeal alone. She has a cup of coffee with cream and Stevia.

According to HGTV, Haack’s overnight oats are pretty simple to make. Her blueberry muffin version is a combination of unsweetened almond milk, chia seeds, vanilla extract, oats, blueberries, and toasted almonds. That’s six ingredients total.

As for the instructions, it’s as easy as combining all of the ingredients, save for the toasted almonds, in a jar. After a night in the fridge, the toasted almonds get sprinkled on top and Haack’s overnight oats are ready to eat.

Considering Haack’s filming Christina on the Coast and production on her new show, Christina in the Country, is underway, it’s easy to see why overnight oats are a regular thing for the HGTV star. There’s not much to them, and they can be made in advance. Perfect for a busy morning when she has to get out the door.

Haack’s overnight oats aren’t her only go-to for an easy meal. She also enjoys sipping on smoothies. Part of why she likes them and drinks them often is because, similar to overnight oats, she can prep them in advance.

“I meal prep my smoothies,” she told Clark. “I cut up all the ingredients except milk and put in plastic baggies in the freezer or fridge and just throw them and milk in the blender when I’m ready. So it literally takes 5 minutes and I have a full meal.”

The mother of three (Haack shares two children, Taylor and Brayden, with Tarek El Moussa and another named Hudson with Ant Anstead), continued, saying she likes smoothies so much it’s not unusual for her to have one for lunch or dinner.

“For lunch or dinner, I usually make a smoothie from Cara’s smoothie book, “she said.
These are my favorite ever and honestly, I would have them for every meal of the day if I could!”
