‘Cobra Kai’ Season 4 May Not Bring Terry Silver Back Just Yet

Cobra Kai Season 3 answered the question about Miguel’s fate after that horrible fall, but it also went off the rails with the fighting. Some characters began to redeem themselves, Danny and Johnny received invaluable insight thanks to their pasts, and a new alliance was forged.

However, in the final moments of the last episode, Kreese made a phone call to someone to ask for help, and many fans think it’s a sign his old friend Terry Silver will show up in season 4 of the series. But that may not be the case.

Who is Terry Silver?

In The Karate Kid Part III, Terry Silver appeared as one of John Kreese’s Vietnam buddies and co-conspirators. Silver, a wealthy business tycoon who laid the foundation for Cobra Kai, plots revenge against Miyagi and Danny by creating a ruse.

He tricks Danny into believing Kreese is dead and convinces him to train with him for the upcoming All Valley tournament since Miyagi refuses.

Everything is eventually revealed, and things culminate in a sudden death showdown at the tournament. But once again, the bad guys are defeated and Silver leaves in a fit of outrage and contempt.

Kreese’s backstory showed friendship with Silver

Season 3 of Cobra Kai delved into the origins of Kreese’s villainous ways with flashbacks to his time in Vietnam. His unit was captured and forced to fight each other in one-on-one snake pit battles, and Kreese volunteered to take his friend’s place.

While the show did a fake-out into having the audience believe the pony-tailed guy was Silver, it turned out to be the shaky one whose place Kreese took. After Kreese killed their captain in the fight and their team was rescued, Silver promised to always look out for him — for the rest of his life.

He kept that promise in Karate Kid III and many fans believe Silver intends to swoop in again in Cobra Kai season 4. If Danny and Johnny can team up, why not bring in a nefarious ally for Kreese?

‘Cobra Kai’ showrunners coy about Terry Silver

Cobra Kai co-creators Jon Hurwitz, Josh Heald, and Hayden Schlossberg recently chatted with Entertainment Weekly to discuss spoilers for the current season and what to expect for season 4.

They knew fans would be excited about the connection between Silver and Kreese, which was another nod from the old movies, but wouldn’t confirm whether this old foe will surface in 2021.

“At the end of the season, you saw Kreese make a phone call,” said Hurwitz. “You could guess who might’ve been on the other end of that call based off of the photo that he was looking at there. But we can’t really speak to how Terry Silver would respond to that call — or whoever was on the other end of the line would respond to that call. I think you’ll have to see if that character returns in season 4,” he teased.

Season 4 scripts are already completed, and the next installment of Cobra Kai is supposed to begin production sometime this year.
