Underwood and Randolph announced they broke up in June 2020. They made separate Instagram posts about the end of their relationship.

“Its been a crazy few months to say the least, Cass and I have been doing a lot of self-reflecting. Sometimes people are just meant to be friends – and that’s okay,” read part of the caption of Underwood’s Instagram post.

“Colton and I have broken up, but have decided to remain a part of each others lives,” read part of Randolph’s caption. “With all that we have gone through, we have a special bond that will always be there. I love Colton very much and have an enormous amount of respect for him.”

She accused him of using their breakup for money

It didn’t seem like the breakup was amicable in July. Randolph made an Instagram Story claiming Underwood planned to profit off their breakup.

“On Monday evening, you informed me you intend to monetize our breakup by writing a new chapter to discuss your experience with COVID (where you stayed in my family’s house during your recovery) and about our breakup,” Randolph wrote.

“You have also refused to give me any sort of approval on the chapter that you will be writing, which will heavily feature me. (A little insight as to why I was so frustrated on my stories that evening). This seems a bit unfair to me. Colton, you can do what you want, but please do not have a double standard,” it continued.

The reality star appeared on the Reality Steve podcast. He gave an update on how he feels about Randolph and his book.

“The post that she put out I mean eventually we’ll address it together,” he said. “The chapter’s done. I wrote the chapter and she saw it and was OK with it and we made changes,” the reality star said. The new paperback book will be released next year.

“I have nothing but good things and love and well-wishes and friendship with Cassie right now. I love the girl and miss the girl dearly,” he said. “She’s amazing.”

He said the new chapter is better with her input. “Her being part of it made it even better,” Underwood said. He explained, “She told me how she felt and she tells everybody how she felt. I think it was therapeutic and good for both of us to sort of get that out.”

It sounds like Randolph and Underwood are in a better place now. Fans will have to wait for his book to find out more about their breakup.
