Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard’s entire relationship has been conducted under a microscope. Their very first meeting was recorded by TLC cameras, as was their wedding. Plus, their mission trips and even the birth of their first child aired on television for all the world to see.

It has been several years since the couple ended their time with TLC, but they’ve remained public figures. While they’ve attempted to keep some of the details of their life secret, it looks like Lauren Swanson, Jill’s sister-in-law, might have clued the world in on Jill’s childbearing plans.

Jill Duggar handed down the crib she used for her 2 boys

Jill’s sons — Israel, 4, and Samuel, 2 — are past the crib stage. The duo shares a small room in the home that Derick and Jill purchased last year. And while some fans were concerned with the humble nature of the space, they seem to be getting along just fine.

An additional bedroom does exist in the home. The third bedroom could easily house more children, but many followers believe the pair is done having kids. And it seems like Lauren might have confirmed that theory in a roundabout way.

Lauren took to Instagram recently to answer fan questions. When one fan asked for a link to the crib Lauren is using for her infant daughter, Bella, she informed the commenter that she couldn’t because it was a hand-me-down. She linked Jill’s Instagram handle to the comment, indicating Jill gave her the crib.

Does handing over a crib indicate Jill and Derick are done having kids?

Duggar family followers took Lauren’s admission as confirmation that Jill and Derick are done having kids. After all, why would they pass off a crib if they could potentially need it again in the near future? While the question is a good one, Lauren never mentioned if she and husband, Josiah Duggar, are simply borrowing the crib or if Jill gave it to them.

It is also possible that Jill and Derick have decided that if they add more children to the family, a new crib would be in order. A Reddit user also noted the crib Derick and Jill used for their two boys wasn’t new in the first place. It is the same crib Josie Duggar, the youngest of the Duggar family’s 19 children, used when she was a newborn.

So perhaps the crib was never Jill’s to keep in the first place. With the mother of two currently on the outs with her family over Derick’s decision to spill the family tea on social media, it’s possible someone instructed Jill to hand over the crib.

What would be causing the couple to limit their family size?

The Duggars do not believe in artificially limiting the number of children a family has. Aside from shunning modern birth control methods, the family also seems to chart fertility for the purpose of getting pregnant.

Armed with that knowledge, followers were shocked when Derick announced he had no issue with birth control. He went on to cite the fact that his parents waited several years to add children to their family.

Meanwhile, Jill has never suggested she wanted to have a massive number of children. Two arduous labors, including two emergency c-sections, might have turned her off to the idea of having more kids. It’s also possible she and Derick are following guidelines from a doctor, though neither has suggested that is the case.

Some fans believe Jill is having a difficult time with motherhood and not enjoying rearing two small children who are close in age. Based on her Instagram posts, fans have noted that Jill seems stressed by the active nature of her two boys.

Will fans ever know whether the couple is planning for more children? Duggar family followers will just need to wait and see whether another pregnancy announcement comes.
