The Duggar family has lived their lives in the public eye for more than a decade, but that doesn’t mean they are an open book. Far from it, actually. Family followers have spent countless hours theorizing about the family’s dynamics, and many followers suspect that Jim Bob Duggar has been the source of most of the family’s recent conflict. If Jill Duggar’s Instagram behavior is any indication, that might not be the case. It appears as though Jill might be holding a grudge against her mother, Michelle Duggar, and not her father.

Derick Dillard has been outspoken about his dislike for Jim Bob Duggar

Derick has been open about his feelings toward the Duggar family. In fact, Derick is the first Duggar in-law to go rogue and talk negatively about Jim Bob and the family’s show, Counting On. While he’s been open about his feelings about Jim Bob and TLC, he has mostly avoided speaking about Michelle.

Derick has spoken openly about how he wasn’t paid for his time on Counting On. He has also revealed that Jim Bob does not allow him or his family at the Duggar’s Springdale, Arkansas home. Derick has even suggested Jill is being kept from her siblings for fear of the influence she would have on them.

In all of his interviews and online musings, Derick hasn’t said a single word, either negative or positive, about Michelle. While fans have primarily ignored that fact, it’s hard to ignore the fact that Jill seems to be treating her parents differently, at least when it comes to acknowledging them on social media.

Jill Duggar did include her father in her Father’s Day post

While Derick might still have an issue with Jim Bob, Jill appeared to be in a more forgiving mood on June 21. The mother of two took to Instagram to wish her husband, her father, and her late father-in-law a Happy Father’s Day. Sure, Jill didn’t wax poetic about Jim Bob, but any acknowledgment by Jill seemed interesting to Duggar family followers.

Jill took to Instagram to share photos of her husband, her father, and her father-in-law. The caption was mostly about Derick and how he is a good father to their two sons, Israel and Sam, but she did offer her father a shoutout. At the end of the post, she stated, “Happy Father’s Day to all dads, but especially to my hubby, my dad, & my father-in-law (who I never had the privilege of meeting). So grateful for all 3 of them and blessed by them in so many ways!”

Jill was one of the only Duggars to acknowledge Jim Bob on the big day. Jessa Duggar, who has seemingly emerged as the Duggar family brand manager, failed to recognize her father on Sunday. That likely wasn’t a slight, though. She barely acknowledged the father of her own three children.

Jill Duggar completely ignored her mother on Mother’s Day, though

Jill’s Father’s Day Instagram post struck some family followers as strange. It seems doubly weird when you consider the fact that Jill completely ignored her mother on Mother’s Day, in May. On Mother’s Day, Jill offered a blanket statement on her Instagram Story, wishing all mothers a happy Mother’s Day. No actual post regarding the holiday was made, and Michelle was never mentioned by name. Her siblings, however, offered Michelle heartfelt statements.

The fact that Jill decided to acknowledge Jim Bob and not Michelle has led some critics to reconsider the source of the family’s drama. Is it possible that Michelle has been the leading cause of trouble between the Dillards and the Duggars all this time? While that seems a bit far-fetched, it seems likely that Jill was making a statement by ignoring Mother’s Day while acknowledging Jim Bob on Father’s Day.
