Courtships, according to the Duggar family, are supposed to help a young adult find their perfect marriage partner. While courtships generally end in marriages, at least for the Duggar family, there has been at least one failure. Back in 2015, Josiah Duggar courted Marjorie Jackson briefly. While he went on to marry someone else, at least two of his sisters seem to be interested in keeping up with Marjorie’s adventures.

Jill and Jinger Duggar both follow Marjorie Jackson

Marjorie may not have married into the Duggar family, but she appears to still be friends with, at least, a couple of family members. Jill Duggar and Jinger Duggar are both following Marjorie on her travels via Instagram, and they aren’t afraid to show some love.

Jinger and Jill have both liked the majority of Marjorie’s recent updates, including photos were Marjorie is dressed in a fashion that doesn’t fit with the Duggar family’s strict dress code. Jill, for example, recently liked a photo of Marjorie enjoying a little time in a pool. Marjorie, dressed in a baby blue bathing suit, is far from immodest, but she’s also not donning a knee-length swim dress. Jinger has also liked several of Marjorie’s photos in recent weeks.

Why did Marjorie and Josiah break up?

Marjorie and Josiah announced their courtship in April 2015 in a corny and theatrical YouTube video. Then just 17 and 19 years old, respectively, Marjorie and Josiah seemed like a good, if not a bit goofy, match. It didn’t take long for the courtship to fail, though. Just a few months after they announced their official courtship, the Duggars released a statement informing fans that Josiah and Marjorie had decided to part ways.

The end of the courtship seemed to coincide with back-to-back scandals inside the family. Just a month after the duo announced their courtship, news broke that Joshua Duggar, the family’s eldest son, molested several of his siblings and a family friend when he was a teen. In August 2015, the same month that Marjorie and Josiah called off their courtship, Joshua admitted to cheating on his wife, Anna Duggar.

According to People, Marjorie may have been the one to put an end to the relationship, and it is believed that the back-to-back scandals played a part in her decision. Since then, Josiah has gone on to marry Lauren Swanson, and Marjorie appears to be living her best life. Since the end of the courtship, Marjorie has graduated from college, traveled extensively, and started her own business.

Do the Duggars like Lauren Swanson?

Josiah and Lauren’s marriage has been heavily questioned by Duggar family critics. Not only do family followers dislike Lauren, in general, but many believe that Josiah was essentially bullied into getting married. Since marrying Lauren, Josiah has looked a bit tired and depressed.

Family critics have also suggested that Lauren doesn’t seem to connect with her sisters-in-law, at least not in the same way that some of the other in-laws seem to connect. Abbie Burnett, who married John David Duggar in 2018, has grown close with Jana Duggar. Kendra Caldwell’s bubbly nature also appears to make her well-liked within the family. Lauren, however, is often pictured sitting alone in family gathering photos. During the family’s Christmas gathering, Lauren seems painfully distanced from the rest of the clan.

So do they like her? It seems like very few of the Duggar siblings actually know much about Lauren, and they don’t seem to be in any rush to get to know her. That might not be an issue of dislike, though. There are so many people within the family that it seems like a difficult task to get to know and connect with everyone.
