‘Criminal Minds’ Season 15: The Real Reason the Reid and JJ Situation Is Now Officially Over
Fans have been patiently waiting for this moment for a little while now and it’s finally here. Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) meets a new love interest in Max who is played by Rachael Leigh Cook. Episode 4 is called “Saturday” and brings new things for Reid. Dr. Spencer Reid meets Max
On advice from his therapist, Reid takes some time away from the office and he encounters Max. Her nephew first finds Reid and things take off from there. Max’s sister comes by to pick up the child, and things go well for Reid outside the office for once when they start to really connect.
JJ and Reid have a conversation
Things are cut short between the two when Kristy goes into labor and Reid has to leave to be there. Reid gets to the hospital and waits along with the rest of the BAU team to hear the news about a new member of the family.
While there, Reid and JJ talk and JJ realizes something is different about her best friend. She convinces him to tell her some information without giving too much away. He tells her he had a “conversation.”
“Oh, a conversation,” JJ says. “Whoever this conversation was with, she put a smile on your face I haven’t seen in a really long time. You know, there’s only so many people that can fit in a delivery room, so.
“I’ll wait. I should say hello to the baby,” Reid tells her in response.
“And you will,” JJ replies. “You know, a week from now, the baby will still be a baby, and it will have two very tired parents that will want your help. Go.”
Reid takes her advice and he tracks down Max and it’s clear their connection isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
Why things are over between Reid and JJ
After everything that’s happened, it’s more than obvious that Reid and JJ are just friends. They’ve addressed that shocking revelation on JJ’s part in season 14 and are moving on from it. JJ has her husband and she’s encouraging Reid to follow his own path to find love. She tells him to go and essentially pushes him into Max’s arms.
Fans react to Reid and Max
Reid and JJ are best friends and it’s going to stay that way. Reid is moving on and he’s established a connection with Max that’s refreshing to see. Fans can’t stop talking about Reid’s new love interest.
“Yay Spencer has a love interest, I hope,” a Twitter user wrote.
“So happy for Reid they will make a beautiful couple,” another user expressed.
Numerous fans just want to see Reid happy for once. “Just give us one more season with him happy, it’s all I ask we got to see everyone else’s relationships pan out and change and Spencer deserves better,” another Twitter user said.
“It was perfect,” a user said about Reid meeting Max.
