Cynthia Bailey from The Real Housewives of Atlanta envisions a roaring fire, a few cocktails, and the love of her life, husband Mike Hill on Valentine’s Day.

Bailey recently dished with Showbiz Cheat Sheet about her Valentine’s Day plans and said she prefers something lowkey and relaxed versus a big grand gesture. She and Hill are also newlyweds, plus Bailey is about to celebrate a birthday so she said the season is all about counting her blessings and being with the ones she loves. She also hopes to whisk Hill away to the Turks and Caicos, which is where she filmed The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls’ Trip.

Cynthia Bailey said Valentine’s Day is everyday for the newlyweds

Bailey said she and Hill are still in that honeymoon phase of marriage so every day is a celebration of love for the couple.

“We just came up on our one-year wedding anniversary,” she said. “So I’m excited about that. And I’m a Pisces. I have a birthday coming up too right after Valentine’s Day. I’m a lover of love. I think love is the nucleus of everything we do, family work, everything.”

“It just all comes back to that for me,” she continued. “For us as newlyweds, every day is kind of Valentine’s Day. We really take our moments to celebrate each other. Once a week, we try to do something special like going out to dinner and having food and drinks. Just saying that we love each other. Every day and every night we pray together. So for us, Valentine’s Day is definitely special, but Valentine’s Day for us, we really try to make it every day.”

No chocolates or teddy bears for Valentine’s Day

When it comes to Valentine’s Day gifts, Bailey prefers something a little less traditional. “I honestly don’t like stuffed animals and Lord knows I don’t need any chocolate,” she laughed. “Take me out for sushi. I’m fine with flowers, but at this point, I’m like let’s go out to dinner. The flowers are gonna die, so let’s just keep it simple.”

One thing Bailey loves is a signature Valentine’s Day cocktail. “My go-to cocktail this Valentine’s Day is the Seagram’s Escapes Love at First Sip Mimosa. It’s super easy to make, sexy and delicious!” She added, “You literally add a cup of champagne to the Seagram’s Escape Strawberry Daquiri. Throw in some strawberries. It’s cute and it’s yummy. And it’s fun!” Visit Seagram’s Escapes for more drink recipes.

She’d love to take Mike Hill away to the Turks and Caicos for a vacation

Bailey loved being in the Turks and Caicos for RHUGT, so she planned to whisk Hill away for a more romantic getaway during Christmas. But like many people, her plans were put on pause when she ended up testing positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) before they could leave for their trip.

Needless to say, Bailey was disappointed she had to cancel the trip but vowed to return with her husband. “I felt like I just had a cold,” she recalled of her symptoms. “But the main reason we wanted to go was after Mike watched the show, he was like, ‘I really want to go there.’ And I was like, ‘Well, I would like to go there with you and not a bunch of crazy women!'”

Bailey still hopes to take Hill on that Caribean vacation soon. “We’re definitely going to try to go back to Turks this year in 2022,” she remarked. “That’s definitely on our to-do list. Maybe we’ll go for our honeymoon because we actually didn’t officially go on a honeymoon yet.”
